I think it's like DCC or something like that. If you call the number back it says the name on the machine. They are always rude and hang up on people. Call our house constantly looking for someone who does not live here. Finally got mad and told them today that the calls need to stop.

When I called them back it said CPV, doesn't really clarify what the company is but I did call Kristen back and left a message for her to call me back with what it's in regards to as we don't owe anyone either...so this has me baffled if it's a collection company.

I have gotten around 15 calls from this number in the last week, 5 of which were yesterday alone.
About half of them I answer. When I answer it is a recording saying "stay on the line for an important business opportunity".
I have a personal prolicy to never speak to machines lol so I always hang up.
When i don't pick up it goes to voicemail (they are calling my cellphone)
I currently owe no one anything, I live in Canada, and do not have a capital one credit card.

No idea what these calls are about but collection agency makes no sense in my case.
Getting pretty sick of the calls tho.

So how do we get them to stop calling?  They call my elderly mother at least 5 times a day for the last 2 weeks. They wake her up in the morning and call all day.  She fell the one day going the the stairs to answer the phone.   Trust me she dosent owe anyone any money and has had the same phone# for the last 30 years.

Just got a call as well and just ignored it after seeing this page.
It doesn't seem to be a collections agency (not anymore at least) as no one other than family and friends know my mobile phone number and I do not owe anyone anything.
It may have been a number used by a collections company in 2009 but now it just seems to be junk.

Added to my android's incoming blacklist.

These guys won't stop calling me!  I ignore the call each time but they insist on trying again multiple times daily.

The gov't should set up a complaint box of sorts for callers like this

    getting mad
This number keeps calling my cell. I never answer since I have a policy to not answer calls from numbers I don't recognize - even toll free ones. The last message said "4321, Please have call us regarding an important business matter. When calling please quote ACP reference number...click...busy signal" end of message. I didn't leave out the name or reference number - they didn't leave either on the message. I typed the message exactly as it was left on my voice mail. The voice on the message sounded like one of those automated computer things. The company does not identify itself on the message or leave a callback number. It all sounds a little too suspicious to me.

The company was trying to collect for my old cell phone contract.  I changed provinces and since i signed up for a TERM contract, let it run out in spite of the out of province costs for making any calls.  They " extended " my contract, contacted me directly and I paid directly to the cell phone company for the " extra " 3 months of billing.  They tryed it a second time and at the 2nd mailed bill, I phoned and explained to the agent at the time that the contract was suposed to have been paid in full and canceled at that time.  I was unable to make/recieve any text/calls during that time frame and since then the cell phone company has been sending the aleged debit for 3 months to a variety of collectors.  March 2012 seems to have been shuffled off to C B V for it and hopefully I don't have to copy and fax all the bills I STILL HAVE to get them to send it back to the cell phone company.  Next cell phone I get will be either Telus, Fido or Virgin.

CBV collections, they collect on behalf of several companies not just for Capitol One. They'll put you on hold while they work out a payment plan for you, but in reality they sit and chat then come up with a payment off the top of their heads. The more they can get you to pay the higher their commission. I know because I was offered a job there......which I left after half a day as I was so disgusted by them!!!

    Who Cares
    This telephone number belongs to:
    CBV COLLECTION SERVICES
    814 Richards Street. Vancouver, B.C.

CBV is a debt collection agency.  They perform debt collection services for many different companies, including TELUS.

In view of their office being located in the business-centre of Vancouver, they pay very high rent, therefore do not concern yourself with their threats to take you to court, as they do not sue anyone, they can't afford the upfront court costs, and they certainly can not afford to lose their court-case should the Judge side with the defendant.
Also if you are not employed, then you are not suable, but you do not have to tell them that.  In fact you do not have to tell them anything, and you do not have to call them back if you choose not to.  Also there is nothing they can or will do if you put the telephone down on them.
If they are serious about suing you, they would do so.
