- Mary replies to COMMON SENSEWRONG:
Fraudulent Use of the DHL Brand
Attempts have been made to defraud Internet shoppers by the unauthorized use of the DHL name and brand via phone or email communications and graphics which appear, on the surface, to have originated from DHL.
In most cases the communications concern the sale of consumer goods over the Internet where payment may be requested before the goods are delivered.
Please be advised that DHL does not request payment in this manner. DHL only collects money due for official DHL related shipping expenses.
This security notice does not affect the obligation of a consignee to pay shipping, customs, VAT or similar charges, where these are properly payable at the time of delivery.
DHL accepts no responsibility for any costs, charges or payments made which were improperly incurred as a result of fraudulent activity. - Mary replies to JohnNot true. Call the place you ordered from BEFORE paying anybody anything. ALWAYS!!!
Here is DHL's official response, where they basically say if you were stupid enough to pay somebody who called you using a computer, and didn't even know your name, they won't be responsible.

Talked with DHL and they said the DHLmypayments.us site is valid / legit.- Caller: DHL Express
- Call type: Debt collector
- ANDYgot this call every day. we already contact with DHL, So, do not answer this call again.
- PBPI| 1 replyReceived a voice mail message which sounded very urgent. Female said it was imperative I contact their website and she quickly rattled off the DHL website. She also gave a toll free phone number of 866-4505 and said to be prepared with my DHL account number and invoice to pay the bill immediately. Further, she mentioned that my DHL account was going into a collection status effective immediately. I looked up the phone number and saw the comments on this site and decided it was a fraud. Also, we don't have a DHL account. I called the number before I read these comments and the number rang and rang so I eventually hung up.

- Kj| 1 replyNearly every morning for several months I have been woken up with a call from 866 896-4505 which I reported as a telemarketer, because I thought it was, but it turns out it is from a real debt collections agency used by DHL. I was told this by "Mary" at the legitimate DHL phone number I called from their website. (You can do this, too.) The invoice number given is not right, so they couldn't look it up. They also said DHL only keeps it's tracking info for 30 Days. (What company does that? What company would never call using a human being before sicking a recorded debt collector on you?) I told her how angry this made me, plus getting woken up nearly every frigging morning! They couldn't do anything for me without the correct invoice number, so I have to wait until I get the call again tomorrow to write down the correct number. The trouble is, it has already been turned over to a collections agency, because I am also getting calls from them! I told her I would never have ordered something had I known there would be added charges from customs. I only deal with full upfront costs! This is highway robbery for not disclosing the possibility of added customs charges! She said, "When you order something from Amazon that comes from anywhere overseas, this can happen." Well, my next stop is my congressperson, because this should just not ever happen in America. The entire country is going to the dogs. I'm just angry as heck over this mess, and tired of getting woken up!!! I don't think I should have to pay a computer voice for something I don't even remember ordering, or something DHL cares so little about, they don't even keep their records for 31 days!!! Just a "word to the wise" for the rest of you, this might be a legitimate customs charge, but the way DHL is handling it is all wrong, and I will NEVER knowingly ever do business with them again. BEWARE of your AMAZON purchases, and write everything down!!! Keep the emails with tracking orders. You may need them. I can't say what all this means as it is still ongoing, and until I find my correct invoice number, I can't tell if this is real or not, but I DO know the phone number that keeps calling all of us is not a telemarketer, but a debt collector.

- Kj replies to JimThat's what I thought, too, but the number, 866-896-4505 is not a telemarketer, but a debt collections agency. They've been calling me for months. I didn't think I had anything shipped from DHL either, but it turns out anything from Amazon that was shipped from ANY foreign country can have customs duties. It doesn't seem like that should be legal, as we should all know the full amount we must pay BEFORE we order something! This may not be a scam, but it is certainly not right!!!
- Kj replies to KjI am responding to myself, as this now looks like I may have been wrong...if you order anything on Amazon that comes from a foreign country, it can be subject to customs fees. Buyer BEWARE!
- William replies to PBPI"Female said it was imperative I contact their website ..."
And what was that website ? We could have looked it up on whois information sites. - William replies to Kj"... it turns out it is from a real debt collections agency used by DHL."
And what was the name of this debt collections agency ?
You should have asked the person at DHL for that information, as well as the business address and telephone number of that agency. - V RiegelRecd a letter indicating amt due for DHL Express shipment. Called DHL via # on their website to confirm request was fraudulent. Rep told me someone actually *did* try to use my CC info to ship a pkg (NY to China), altho I live in CA and don't use DHL. Was advised to call bank and notify them, as well as contact debt collection agency to inform same..
- Not their customerI do not use DHL, and have no invoices with them to pay, but have received call after call for a week now. This duplicates an attempt a year ago with the same SCAM. I have contacted DHL, verified that I do not have any balance due, and have forwarded all info to their fraud department. Calls from this number are NOT legit. Anyone above that says it is, they are part of the scam trying to fool you into paying.
- Caller: SCAM DHL collection

- EricDefinitively a scam. Called today and said I owed money on customs invoice from 4 months ago. Asked for email address so they could send it to me and of course, because I do a lot of business with DHL, I provided it. As soon as I received I a few red flags went up right away.
1. The senders address was support@dhlar.com (clearly this is a dead giveaway)
2. The phone number in the email 866-896-4505 (having called DHL numerous times before I have their number imprinted in my head 1-800-CALL DHL.
3. The Logo in the email was very poor quality. Almost as is had been copied and pasted multiple times. (as a business owner I know how important brand representation it)
To make sure, I called the real DHL number and spoke to a couple of representatives and they verified my suspicions.
Forwarded the email to their fraud department. (fraud.alert@dhl.com)
Don't fall for this. Stay vigilant. I'm pretty upset at myself for giving up my email address... - HeatherTold us we owed them money.

- WendyReceived a call from 2 different 800#'s today stating the same as the previous posts shows. After reading all of the posts, I contacted DHL directly. DHL confirmed the information. We had not shipped anything in from overseas. However, we are a subcontractor for another company that had. DHL's direct billing # is 800-722-0081 so check with them first to verify.

- Anonymous| 1 replyour business just received a phone call from a "Stephanie" saying she was from DHL Express and needed to speak with our AP department. I took down her information but when she gave me a weird invoice number and a "direct" line phone # that started with 866, I didn't feel like it was right. She asked for my co-worker's (AP Department) email address but I didn't give it. Evidently, they are still trying to scam people.
- Caller: "DHL Express"

- ChrisThis is certainly a scam number. We weren't getting calls from them but had received a "DHL" invoice stating we were past due for charges associated with the import and/or export of goods. We had never received an actual invoice and never ship using DHL so I wasn't sure what to do with it. I asked around to see if anyone was familiar and no one knew what it was. We have had a few issues with scammers so I thought I would look up the number they provided that led me to this page. I still wanted to check with DHL because there are a few conflicting reports on this page on if it is legit or not. I sent an email to the DHL support team to see if they could give me information (I also had already put the "AWB No" they provided on the collection notice and it pulled nothing up on DHL's website). Don't fall for the messages on here saying to pay them!! Here is the response I received back from DHL:
"I apologize for any inconvenience.
Please do not provide any personal information, that phone number is not registered in our system. If you got an email forward it to Security.Support@dhl.com so the Security Team can assist you, you can also contact them at +1-877-764-1726. "...(they then tried to sell me a DHL business account so I left that out)...."If you need something else please let me know.
