- MM| 1 replyAre they allowed to harass you at work?
- BigdealA Ms. Belcher left a message for someone who does not live with me. I do not know this person either, but I now know that this person is having financial problems. Ms. Belcher's message was quite rude - I certainly wouldn't call her back. Though my caller ID came up with the 1-500-000-0000 number, she left the 1-866-896-5254 x 530156. So I looked that number up - slimy company (Creditors Interchange Receivable Management LLC). They have their own bad reputation and are not on the up-and-up.

- KNOW IT ALL replies to stacy| 1 replyJUST B.C A CRDT CAD WAS WRITTEN OFF 7 YRS AGO DSNT MEAN THE STATUE OF LIMITATIONS IS UP, THAT NUMBER IS TO A BANKRUPCY OFFICE AND ONCE YOU FILE BANKRUPCY ON SOMETHING THE STATUE OF LIMITATIONS STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN ONCE IT IS DISMISSED, TRYING BEING INFORMED ABOUT YOUR BILLS, AND PAYING THEM
- ppl| 1 replythis is the dismissed bankrupcy office guys...hello, if you try to file bancrupcy on something and it is dismissed the statue of limitations starts over so stop using that excuse...........

- bigron316Tell your creditors to put the settlement in writing before paying them. DON'T give them electronic access to your bank account when making payments.
- Charles NeuenbergerThey harass the wrong people all the time. They need to be prosecuted and put in jail.
- Call type: Debt collector
- Greg G| 1 replyIf an unsecured debt is canceled due to Chater 7 bankruptcy, that is game over for the creditor. Has nothing to do with statute of limitations. Only those debts not canceled or of course secured debts can be pursued with no time limit.
- annoymous| 2 repliesIf you file any chapter bankruptcy, and it is DISMISSED, not discharged, the statute of limitations starts the day the bankruptcy is dismissed. The unpaid debts are sent back to the client, at which point they are sent into collections. At this point, you are given the opportunity to settle your debt for far less than the original balance. THIS IS A PRIVILEGE. You are not OWED a settlement offer. You racked up the bill, including the late fees and interest, you are responsible for the full balance. The only reason you get a settlement offer is to try and help you repair your credit. You don't call the shots once your debt is charged off. You had your chance to work out arrangements while it was still an active account.
If you have all this money to pay an attorney (between 1500-3k retainer) and the court costs, and you're just filing a chapter 13, then just PAY YOUR BILL. If it gets dismissed and you still refuse to pay it, eventually whoever OWNS the debt (see your credit report), can and will sue you for the unpaid funds. And so you know, once a judgement has been made on the debt you cannot include it in a future bankruptcy.
And yes, even a chapter 7 can be dismissed. Once it is, guess what? You owe that money again and your statute has started again from the point of dismissal.
Try paying your bills people. - HarassedIt's hilarious how the debt collectors search on their phone numbers - see the comments on this website and post as real people - saying 'pay your debt' or 'pay your bills'.
You are horrible people. You don't know what we are going through and why these old debts are not paid.
They called me today saying i had 5 collections with them; and how was I going to take care of it. I just asked if she could tell me which bills or debts they were - and she hung up on me. If I don't know what the bills are, why would I pay them or talk to anyone?? How can they call when they have ZERO information about the debt you owe?- Caller: creditors interchange

Douche Canoe. - busterr replies to KNOW IT ALLActually, it doesn't resent anything. It just puts a STAY on the account for the amount of time it was in BK (from filing to resolution (either through a discharge, dropping the case or dismissal).
- king replies to Greg Gall debts have a statute of limitations. check with your state. also, a BK filing puts a stay on the debt, it does not reset the debt.
- king replies to pplActually, it doesn't resent anything. It just puts a STAY on the account for the amount of time it was in BK (from filing to resolution (either through a discharge, dropping the case or dismissal).
- buster replies to MMyes. however, you can ask them to NO LONGER CALL YOU AT WORK if your employer does not allow these kind of calls.
- bing replies to PEGGYif they call every 15 minutes, then contact an attorney as this can constitute harassment in violation of the Fair Credit Collections Act.
