Some stupid clown calling..  Make him go away!

Ha, friend of mine has been getting called threatened to him by a collections company representing citigroup private label credit cards. They call him all the time, refuse to say who they really are, go on about the debt before confirming who my friend is. They threatened him to the extent of saying Citigroup is going to sue him. That meets the definition of extortion since the debt collector wouldn't be the one doing the litigation it's extortion to make the threat that "someone else" is going to sue you.

Never-the-less theres nothing he can do about it. He lives in Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania doesn't allow you to record anyone that calls you without their permission, the debt collectors won't agree to be recorded yet they claim to be recording him saying they can because they have someone else listening on the call. So if that's correct, debt collectors are just able to run wild in Pennsylvania, go Citigroup, get another bailout then threaten your customers through debt collectors.

Calling everyday for months...tried to tell them person does not live here and get them to stop.  they won't tried to get address to send certified letter got transferred and "disconnected".

Received a call from a man claiming to be from the licensing dept ( whatever that is supposed to be) left a ph # of 714-380-1582, when I called that number a small child answered the phone.

I received a message to call this number with no explanation.   When I called and asked what company this was, I could not get an answer and was immediately transferred to a man who was extremely rude and would not divulge the name of the company.

this number keeps calling my cell they need to be stop they as tryed calling my work and my work told them nor to call any more i have talk to the B.B.B and they said this company is not on the up right so dont talk to them as i have no dept i owe i had a creited crd but was clean off over 9 years ago  so if you get this call report them they need to be close down

This number keeps calling me from 1-866-897-9058 they have also call my work my work told them they cant call there and they keep calling telling anyone who answer the phone things about me  bad monthing me they also try to get into my chcking account that i now closed they are trying to get money from a cc i owed over 15 years ago on my creited report it shows it was chaged off if anyone knows how i can stop them from callling me please let me know

did they ask for checking info? did they say anything about a summons being issued by the sherrifs department?

A storng male voice left a message and had the full name of my spouse. Said my spouse needed to call by 11 our time and it was a timely matter and good luck. The return call was to be spoken with a Mrs. Brown. The complaint numer was 84393. The # to call was 866 897 9080 ext. 857 I called it and it said it was a World Wide Recovery. To eneter the ext number or leave a meassge. (That part was a recording) I didn't do any of that and I decided to see who exactly these poeple were because I have never heard of them. The message didn't say the company name.

These guys are calling threatening me too how do I go about getting these guys off my ass.

It was about a credit card debt that i had sense 2003 they call my job trying to collect the debt. they told me that they had a warrant pending and that if i paid it off they would call it off.

Anybody know how to stop them from calling period?
I put a block on a number they were calling from 949-812-4687 & -4685
Now they think they are slick by calling me from a *private* number but my service at least let's me see the state. Both from New Jersey and Florida.

I knew it was something shady from the first time they called cause I can hear in the background either a kid, or some squeaky door from someone's personal house. Not a business.

I called back masked, no audio, and the "male" receptionist did not even say the company name, just hello. He said it for a few minutes, cursed a bit, then thought I was a kid calling.

Anybody with any luck getting them off them?

Any debts I owe I go through the company I owe. Not some 3rd party.

  Guess what?  I got hit up by these guys too.  I was lame enough to give them my info and I agreed that I owed the debt even though it was run up by my mom.  They threatened that I was going to be served papers the same day they were calling and that I had to make an agreement to settle or would be sued in 10 days.  I got scared and agreed.  My friend smelled a rat so we did some research on the internet and found you.  I stopped the debit payment.  I want to get these guys and I am willing to join you.  What do we do now?  And how do I get these people off my back?  Please help

DAN DURBIN KEEPS CALLING ME SAYING BASICALLY THE SAME THING AS EVERY ONE ELSE HAS STATED.  SAYING THAT I AM BEING SUED FOR 11,000 AND IF I TAKE THE SETTLEMENT AND GIVE HIM MY ACCOUNT INFO I WILL NOT BE SERVED PAPERS AT WORK OR MY WAGES WILL NOT BE GARNISHED.  HE SPENT AN HOUR ON THE PHONE WITH ME JUST SAYING THAT I AM SO STUPID BY NOT SETTLING.  THESE GUYS ARE SUCH TERRIBLE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SO MANY HOLES IN THEIR STORIES.   DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY OR ANY INFO WHAT SO EVER!!!!!!

I am also in the middle of filing a suit against them in a small claims court. I am a public school teacher and they keep calling my Principal to get money. I was scared and gave them a small payment. My husband made me cancel since we checked our county records and there is no file or case against me so they were lying. They cannot serve you with papers unless the file a case. Check your local superior civil court to see if there is a pending case, if not they are lying and you can get them for fraud. I changed my bank account info. and I am dealing with a debt lawyer to help fix my accounts from over seven years ago. Also they have no respect for the law and make you feel like you are breaking the law....report...report...report....and don't admit fault to debt. Send a a letter equesting validation of debt and to stop contacting you make sure the letter is certified. Does anyone know if they are an actual legit company or just fraud...

The same thing is happening to me....I called a lawyer they said they could own your debt and they could not but not to worry about that....threatning to sue is against the law....we have to come together to get these guys. Is this a new kind of scam?

Do not bother contacting an attorney about these guys, they are predatory collectors.  Just ignore them.

A man called (866)-897-9058 and said that I was going to sue me and told me to call Mr. Durbin at 714-380-5860.

I immediately checked both phone numbers and found they were  collectors  - totally bogus.

Obviously, they are trying to take advantage.

I did contact an attorney and we filed  a suit. No one has the right make threats like this and these lawyers work for free. So if you are willing to put in the time, you can actually get money out of them....
