The outcome of the Cease and Desist Letter to the latest bill collector for DirecTv has been all positive!

The two biggest pluses:

1) No more calls or letters! Yay!
2) A 60+ point bump in my credit score on the free Credit Karma site.  I am now back in the Excellent category. And I will stay there because if after 4 months DirecTv has not sent my account to a new collector, it will not happen.  This movement of my collections account around wreaked havoc on my credit score because it kept it as a new debt, with a higher ding to my credit score.

Additionally, within two months of the Cease and Desist letter, this collection account aged off my profile on Credit Karma. I am unsure if it has aged off my credit report with all three Credit Bureaus yet.

Stilll all good. Matter of fact, I had second thoughts about returning the box because there was one accidental partial download of a program, and I remember pulling the plug when DOWNLOAD appeared in the display.  I have read about others being charged for such accidental issues, so I fear sending it back will reopen my case, and I don't need that. Can creditors such as credit card, mortgage or auto loan companies garnish Social Security benefits to pay a debt?
No. If a creditor other than the federal government tries to garnish your Social Security benefits, inform them that such an action violates Section 207 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 407).

I don't know about y'all - I'm so disgusted with this person think she's calling. Is there anything you can do to stop this??? I have had enough!!!!!

There's this cool feature on most cell phones called "block caller" and it works for all these calls lol try it

Caller ID says Credit Management, they call my medical equipment line that has no phone hooked to it and never gets answered.
Calls twice a day and interrupts my heart monitor

There are two scummy companies call "Credit Management" that are allegedly debt collectors, and the other posters are not exactly clear which company it is.  They will not stop calling until given incentive to do so.  You will either have to contact them to find out which company they really are and then send them a certified, return receipt cease and desist calling letter, or send one to both.  I would also suggest that you do the following:

Call and ask me to verify my address. Why would I verify my address with a random person who called me??? How do I know he's not a rapist, murder or thief....

This number has called well over 60x in the last 2 months. I have spoken to at least 3 CSR's and 2 Super's and I have told them to stop calling! Which of course they said they would. The person they ask for is not me, but they're quick to want to get my info. Isn't there something that can be done for this type of harassment?

I find it hilarious when these scumbags google themselves and get all pissy when they read what people think of them.  Try not being a degenerate Jack Zwick, and you can join the rest of us rightfully annoyed by your incessant calls pleading for money you aren’t owed.

Who are the people calling from this phone number? First they call my cell and within second they are calling my work number on a recorded line!  I have texted them NEVER to call me again.  Who is this and why the continued harassing phone calls?  Are there no laws against this?
