    A business with no ties to them
    EVERY TIME THIS NUMBER CALLS, IT HANGS UP WHEN I PICK UP, SO I CALLED IT BACK.  THE GUY STATES IT'S A MORTGAGE COMPANY, WANTING TO KNOW MY LAST NAME.........TOLD HIM THIS IS A BUSINESS & THAT I DON'T HAVE A MORTGAGE, COULD HE REMOVE OUR PHONE NUMBER FROM THE LIST TO BE CALLED?  HE STATED UNLESS THERE IS A FILE ATTACHED TO THE NUMBER, HE CAN'T REMOVE IT.  THEN HE ASKED IF ANY OF OUR EMPLOYEES HAVE..........STOPPED HIM RIGHT THERE, TOLD HIM I DON'T GET IN MY EMPLOYEE'S PERSONAL BUSINESS.  HE SAID HE CAN'T REMOVE OUR NUMBER WITHOUT A FILE.  TOLD HIM THE NUMBER WILL BE REPORTED AS HARASSMENT SINCE HE REFUSES TO REMOVE THE NUMBER FROM THE AUTO DIALER THAT IS HOLDING UP A BUSINESS PHONE LINE.

    Honda sometimes calls, wanting to buy back my smoking hot red 2-door Accord.  We don't answer calls from strangers, and they didn't leave a message today.

    Honda Owner replies to commonsense
    Putting food on the table for my children is my number one priority!  I am exactly 8 days late with my car payment and I started getting calls.  This is ridiculous!!! What ever happened to the 30-day rule?  This is an advanced payment for the month and they are treating it like I haven't paid my bill in months. My job is commission-based so I don't get paid on a schedule.  I am getting a check tomorrow and sending in the payment.  I am a single mother...my kids need to eat even if I don't get to.  Mortgage and car payments are important but so is the health and well-being of my children.  I could be sitting at home collecting government support, but I choose to work.  I don't need the stress of Honda Financial over a payment that is not even late enough to report to a collections agency or hurt my credit score.  I was approved for the loan based off my current occupation, but if this is how I am treated (being called a loser) then I will definitely be considering a different make of car for my next lease.

    My husband and I get called at all hours of the day and night. It's 8 am and just called. They even call after 8 pm which is illegal.  According to ftc rules they are not allowed to call after 8 pm. But yet they still call. My husband lost two jobs due to the economy.  We both pay child support.  I have a full-time job and he works almost 30 hrs a week.  Money is tight. I get that its part of their jobs to call but have a heart and follow the rules.

    Actually they are allowed to call you between 8 AM and 9 PM.
    § 805.  Communication in connection with debt collection   [15 USC 1692c]

    (a) COMMUNICATION WITH THE CONSUMER GENERALLY.  Without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, a debt collector may not communicate with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt --

    (1) at any unusual time or place or a time or place known or which should be known to be inconvenient to the consumer. In the absence of knowledge of circumstances to the contrary, a debt collector shall assume that the convenient time for communicating with a consumer is after 8 o'clock antimeridian and before 9 o'clock postmeridian, local time at the consumer's location;
    Furthermore, since this seems to be the original creditor, the FDCPA does not cover them.  There may be laws in your particular State that do cover this situation however, so you must find out from your State Attorney General what those laws are.

    Except that you're calling people that are paid-to-date and never missed a payment just to talk them into trading in the vehicle for a newer model.
