yah i got a call from this number too, but it left a message saying i have an audition and to call back..

but the thing is..
i havnt booked anything everr..YET
but i do have an acting coach and stuff

im uhm, canadian though.

they called me too and i'm canadian. i gave them a call back and they just were looking for actors/models. they wanted me to go in for an audition so i'm actually gonna go today to check it out. im sure its not a "dangerous" thing because it's being held in a well known hotel.

they said they'd explain all the details once i came in for the audition. the lady was very nice on the phone as well. she said they'd fill me in on everything at the interview/auditions.
no idea how they got my number but im gonna find out soon enough!

Yeah same here! Im canadian and the ladies name was also elizabeth. she said that she wanted me to come in for an audition that they were doing in vancouver, and dont worry, i went, but i didnt make it :P im auditioning again though.

where is this place located in Vancouver, i got a phone call too, i wanna try out thought, and when is this event end?

I went yesterday, in vancouver. Is very legit.  Yes her name was elizabeth who called but i believe she's just the receptionist lady. I got picked and i have a photoshoot in late october.
only thing is, i forgot to ask about if they pay for airfare for the convention in may 2010.
there was a deposit fee for the convention. what u're paying for is the photoshoot, seminars, the convention, etc.
the lodging at the convention in toronto is not paid for.
the people there were very nice.
use your best judgement when u go.

they are doing their 17th annual convention in 2010. so they've been around. office located in toronto

They are not a legit talent agency. In fact they've been taken off the BBB website due to their credibility! These so called talent scouts are professional scammers. I'd advise all of you to not waste your time or MONEY with these people.

I think its weird that if it was a scam how some people don't make it, wouldnt u think if they were a scam they would just accept everyone? how many people here have been picked for the convention? I did mine in the head office in Toronto

I had the same thing.  Got a call but have no idea how they got my name.  I'm on Casting Workbook and stuff so I though maybe that was it.  I went to the audition yesterday and I told them I'm skeptical.  They remind me a lot of Model Search America.  Then she asked me to come back today for a call back and gave me some info.  In the package, I noticed it said I would have to pay a deposit of $385 if accepted to the Toronto convention.  I don't like the sound of that!!  What do they mean by deposit??  When am I going to get it back??  

I still haven't decided if I'm going tonight or not.  Trying to figure out if it's somewhat legit, but I don't think so.

the called about my 10 year old daughter - I can't remember if i signed up to get info or not - i don't remember them but I was online looking for legitimate Chlidren's agents
now that I have read other reviews - I am not sure if we will go - my previous experience in the industry is that if the agent wants you and truly believes that they can get you work - they will not charge you $$ as they will make their management fees once they get you working -

i believe that this probably does take advantage of people who are vulnerable

It's a company named "Showcase Worldwide", and it's like a scam
agency, they called my house (I live in Alberta) and asked if I wanted to audition and I went in and everything and they accepted me for a second audition, and the lady said I had to pay like a thousand dollars to go to Toronto and do a photoshoot for headshots, and you get to meet all these casting diretors and other agencies and stuff, but it doesn't actually land you a job. Also, they're just doing a headshot, and it's a lot of money, and you need a new one like every 3 years, so I wouldn't waste my time and money if I were you. : )

Yea i agree.. i went yest and today for a callback and they asked me to pay like 1400$ or somethin like that.. they kept pressuring me and stuff so we said we need a few minutes then we just ran out of there xD. Def a scam don't go there don't even let them get you wrapped in this.

Another thing out of curiousity.. was the girl who auditioned you named Kate or Maria? cuz Maria auditioned me anyways don't waste your money and time no point

Ok listen i went too and i made it through all auditions, and im canadian right..  I made it for acting and modeling but they asked me to pay 385 and more right and when i asked why so much they said its all for photoshoot? i mean who would pay tht kind of money up front! like thats ironic... it s a scam and i got really mad with this lady named Katie?? so ya im not saying its a scam! like i have no proof but its extremely suspicous and if you really had talent, we shouldn't have to pay them. They should have to pay us!.
So if i were you please don't pay and keep your money for when you need it!

OH YA and by the way the lady who auditioned me was Maria too!
