Jamaican scammer. Caller used the name of Albert Johnson claiming to be from Publisher Clearing House Prize Team. Caller claimed to be in New York City and wanted to verify information for a winning of $850,000.00. Asked for a Green Dot card of $1650.00 to insure the bank draft that was going to be delivered. Caller became agitated and aggressive when asked to verify who he was and where he was calling from. Then a gave a name and number (876-578-9233) to call and verify his information, another Jamaican number to help with the scam.

Glad you did not fall for the scam so many people have fallen for this scam and they prey on the elderly so please advise and alert as many as you can about this scam!!

My call was not from this number, as far as I know (came up on called ID as "unavailable"), but this was the number the caller gave me to call and ask for extension 5, a manager named Mr. Robert Scott.  Supposedly, I had won $15 million from Publishers Clearinghouse, they were in my area, but they needed something confirmed before they made delivery.  I was somewhat suspicious to begin with, but became more so, when my cell phone would not make the call (the refusal code kept giving me the error number for international calls, for which I would have needed to insert a special code).  I decided to do a reverse lookup online and found that the number is for Jamaica.  I also found these postings, so I thought I should add in my story as well, so that others know that they are doing a couple variations on the theme.

Got a call last date from the 1-876-259-0403claimbing to be from PCH . They also asked ot ask for ext. 5 , and ask for Albert Johnson.  Thanks for the heads-up!

Received that same call from this Jamaica number.  He gave three different names, same voice.  I have on my phone where he called 16 different times. He also wanted me to go get a green scratch card and give him the numbers off the back.  I ended up reporting him to the police department.  They also checked this number out and it had numerous complaints such as yours and mine.  This is a SCAM folks. .Be careful.  Wish the Publishers  Clearing House people could find out about this.

I just got this call today and he told me to call that number and speak to Mr. Albert Johnson, EXT 5

Received a call today on my cell phone from 876-259-0403 told me he was from the Publisher's Clearing House and I had won $950,000.00 and a car.  Gave me a number to call the claims department 1-876-372-4804, told to ask for Agent Malone at extension 9 to claim my prize.  When I asked his name he said he was John Hendricks.  Figured it was a scam.  

Got my call today. They told me I won a Mercedes and a check for $200,000.  
Had scam written all over it.

Just called asking if I remembered entering the Publisher Clearing House contest. Sounded like a duck on the other end. Told them to remove my number.

Weird voice said I won a prize from Publishers Clearing House, I asked who he was and he wouldn't verify, just kept asking me if I was at home to receive the prize. I then cursed at him, and he asked me if I liked d**k in my mouth. Then asked where my boyfriend was. I was quiet for a second and then they hung up.  Creepy.

Caller state i won a car. He spoke funny and gave me a number to call albert johnson to report address change. I never would give him info. The number was bs. Be careful.

DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.
876 is not a "Toll Free 800 number", it's the international long distance code for the island national of Jamaica.
Jamaica scammers have long used the miss conception to trick victims into calling back, sometimes dinging large long distance/international call rates along with tricking money out of them.
Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.

Publishers Clearing House never requires any money, purchases, taxes, fees, or deposits of any kind to get your prize.

Publishers Clearing House DOES NOT call, email, FAX, mail, any advanced notice that you have won.

"If you are ever contacted by someone claiming to represent PCH, or claiming to be one of our employees,  and asked to send or wire money (for any reason whatsoever, including taxes); or send a pre-paid gift card or Green Dot Moneypak card in order to claim a sweepstakes prize – DON’T!  It’s a SCAM. If you are sent a check, told it’s a partial prize award, and asked to cash it and send a portion back to claim the full prize award, DON’T.  The check is fake, but the SCAM is real!

Publishers Clearing House does not operate this way and would NEVER ask for money to claim a prize award.  PCH employees would never contact you personally or in advance to notify you of a prize award.  Our prize awards are presented just the way you see in our popular TV commercials, ‘live and in person’ by our Prize Patrol, with balloons, champagne and check in hand - - and with no advance notification!

got this call today on my cell phone, did not answer. Don't know anyone in Jamaica anyway.

Someone called me from 8764656220 9/20/21 stating Mary Johnson and David Drinkwater were coming to my house to give me prize money a car etc. They gave me a ticket number and a us winner number .  They told me to call 9203518611 mycell phone will not allow me to call the number the second time.
