My son has also received a letter from the same company, also claiming they are collecting for MPS Canada! He said that he never ordered magazines or owe anyone money! I think it is very strange any reputable Canadian company would go to  recovery agency in the States!

I have received a letter from these same people and phone calls stating that I have been receiving Magazines since April 2013.  When I advise them I have not they basically tell me that I am a liar.

Watch out for this company as they seem to represent a scam group.

They are definitely trying to scam Canadians! They called me saying that I had won a trip or something. All I had to do was "try out" a magazine, and I could cancel anytime. I said I did not want to subscribe to any magazines. The guy said, no problem, just try it out, and you can cancel if you still don't want them. I said, only if I can pay by cheque, not on my credit card. He said "sure". I asked for their customer service phone #, just in case I changed my mind before the magazine came(He said I had 10 days to cancel).  He would not give it me, saying it will come in the mail with the details in less than a week. He knew full well that he was going to make sure I did not receive the number before the 10 day deadline. I was really in a hurry for an appt. so I just wanted to get off the phone. What a jerk! He recorded the conversation,( for their records). I would not voluntarily say what he wanted me to, so he said ,just repeat what I say.
That's called "coercion" in a court of law. This company has been harassing me and it's got to stop!
    What is anyone's suggestion?

I was at the vet for my dogs surgery and MPS had been calling me for weeks so I answered to find out what was going on. Tey said I won a watch and a chance to win 25K! They asked if I wanted to sign up for a magazine and said it was 54 bucks every 3 months and I only had to pay for 1 year and I could cancel at any time! They said I would get 7 magazines! So I said ok. They said if I cancel I have to send everything back which was fine with me! They said I would get everything in a week! While I was on the phone with them they were charging my credit card- which they knew the number and had me verify! ( why I thought it was legit- they said they were with master card).  6 weeks later I got documents that I had to sign. I read it and it said nothing of what I was told! I right away tried to call but no answer so I emailed them and got laughed at in the email and told nope too bad and that now I had to pay even more then what was on the document! They have been harrassing me since August 2013 and today this collector company called me on their behalf and said that because they have a recording of me it doesn't matter what I say!! I have no idea how to get rid of them but why I do know is I am going to call the BBB on Friday and see what they say! My credit card company found charges for another company they go by too- holiday savers! And while I was on the phone with them they were already charging my card!!

They called me on a day I was home sick from work. I said no to their watch and magazines. I don't buy magazines. He wouldn't take no for an answer. Eventually I said ok to get him off the phone. Tried to cancel right away with no success. I got a letter too and they've been calling almost every day. I've received nothing and refuse to pay anything. This is clearly a scam. I think we should start a class action lawsuit. Anyone know a lawyer that can help get this started?

Chuck, I posted a message with the same problem. Since they call me every day trying to extort money from me for services and products I have NOT received, I have decided that I am going to contact the head office of each of the magazines they promote through their scam operation and see how THEY feel about the way their potential customers are treated. Also I'll ask them how they feel about the horrible reputation that they are giving the magazine name. I would suggest that everyone else do the same thing. One voice doesn't mean a lot, but hundreds of voices they cannot ignore.
I believe we can put these guys out of business once and for all. I'll even write the letter for everyone to copy and paste.
We'll get a lot further if we organize. Interested? Email me at briggie2004@yahoo.ca with PRG in the subject.

I received a call at 9 am, when I had been up very late so I wasn't fully awake when they called. A month ago I did actually enter a contest for a 2500 gift card, so when they told me I was entered for a 2500 dollar sweepstakes, I thought it was that and I agreed with what they were saying. Then the lady started talking about magazines and a free subscription and then a paid subscription for 60 months, and I got confused and suspicious and told them that I changed my mind because I can't afford that. The woman got huffy with me and hung up. She called back again about 2 hours later to reconfirm my subscription and I told her NO, I don't want it. Unfortunately in the first call I had given my card information (I was half asleep) and money was taken from my account. In the second call she said she would refund my account, and right before the call was terminated she was VERY rude talking about me to someone else. I haven't been refunded yet, and I don't think I am going to be.

I was just sent a threatening letter from these jerks who totally misled me but I saw through the scam and cancelled the following day...which of course they can't find any note of, then an email was faxed and sent to them with the same info but according the them, too late.  So from what I am reading I shouldn't bother worrying about them.  I sent every mag back to them, had credit card charges reversed and totally ignored all calls which yes, was the number above plus a number with my local area code too.  I'd love to get my hands on this Serenity and show her how serene I am right now!!!

I dont even like magazines and never heard of them before. Anyone know how to contact their head office?  Do you have to pay or is there a way to get them to stop?

I just call this magazine service to cancel the magazines.  'Ashley ' was  trying to give me a better deal, I informed her I just wanted to cancel my subscription and she told me I was rude for interrupting her...she hung up on me.  Now isn't that good customer service, what was I thinking?
