- cibc client| 1 replyI called the number on the back of my cibc card instead.
I would never divulge personal data to an unfamiliar number. - Cautious| 6 repliesThis number called and the call display even says it's CIBC. It was a recording saying to call them back. I decided called the bank first using the number on my card and they said there were ZERO problems with my account. Decided to call this 8772088801 number after. A man answered and I told him will not give him information over this number as I just spoke to the bank and they said there were no problems. He actually asked me who I spoke to at the bank (her name...how does that help??). He said they can't help you and you have to ask to be connected to anti fraud. So I said OK I'll call the number on the back of my card again and ask for anti fraud. When I did the gentleman at the ACTUAL CIBC I spoke to said that was bogus and he again said there were no problems with my account.
BOTTOM LINE: NEVER give out info unless you call the actual number of the place you are calling.- Caller: fake CIBC
