We received the same call but also got info in the mail and heard advertisements on the radio.  The company claims to be called A.C.T. out of Phoenix, but I couldn't find out any information on them either via goggle search or address search.  They are holding auditions in our area is all I really know.

This appears to be a well-organized group that, if they are a scam, are pretty darned convincing.  A.C.T. was, according to the BBB website, organized in 2007, and there is no other information on them that I could find.  I placed the 'call-back' for my daughter today and got what I can only describe as a fast-talking, high-pressure sales pitch.  I had to give my credit card information over the phone before I would even be contacted (tomorrow, mind you) by the local person.

If they are legit, they've got a strange business model.  I spoke to the Kansas Attorney General's office and they tell me that anyone that demands money up-front, via a credit card transaction over the phone, before you even get to speak to a local person, is worthy of skepticism.

Luckily, I didn't give my credit card information, and I don't suggest anyone else do so, either.

I called this company for my daughter after hearing a radio ad. Although they gave us a scheduled date and time at an exhibition center to audition, I have no idea what the audiotion is good for, or any information about this company. when I checked the exhibition centers website of upcoming events this A.C.T.company was not listed for our given date, yes folks be skeptical.

This is a number for a for-profit acting/modeling school out of AZ. They post adds on the radio and have "open auditions" where your child is then "chosen" to attend their school for a cost of $1500 - $5000. They have an actual agent on site for a "separate" audition but all of the info is just for the school. It was a fun experience for my daughter but that was all it chalked up to.

Okay so, last week I recieved a poscard in the mail, very vibrant, has a cartoon girl on it, and says "Be on Your Favorite TV Show" then features logos for various Disney Channel & Nickelodeon shows. "You + Auditon = TV"
Then on the back it says "Dreams do come true, call right now for more info and to reserve your spot!!"

So my mom did just that, she said the man was very nice, I could hear him a little and it seemed like he was talking very fast, but she was writing down things he was telling her. He said that it is a fun audition with very high energy! Sooo. GUESS WHAT? I'm going TODAY, and now I am NOT excited or happy. I had asked about this on IMDB and 2 people told me it may be a scam.

    Soo.. frankly, I'm scared.
I will try to enjoy myself, but it will be very difficult knowing this is all just a load of CRAP!

My daughter heard about this on the radio. They said they were holding open auditions for the disney channel. I looked up the disney channel it says they are no longer holding open auditions except in florida. Iam in ohio. When I called the number and made a date I got the last spot. They told me there is no money involved. Then my husband looked this phone number up and i read this info. So I called the hotel were this is booked and they even said that they are scam artists they believe. I called that number back and asked them if they supposably have a acting school you have to pay for they said yes. I had asked them the first time if moneys involved and they said no and now its different.

I got a postcard in the mail for this in the mail saying "Dreams Do Come True."  As soon as my daughter saw that Hannah Montana, Drake and Josh, and Suite Life of Zach and Cody were the shows she "could be on" she had to sign up.  So we called the number, were put on hold several times, and finally had to be called back.  My daughter insisted that I set up an audition.  In the mean time, it all seemed a little fishy to my husband and I.  After I read this information, I am starting to believe this whole thing is a scam.  It just goes to show, do some research before you sign up for things like this.  I am now cancelling the audtion.  Thanks for the heads up.

It's a scam...the "audition" is not for a modeling/acting job, but rather a hook to get you to pay for their academy.  It's not worth your time unless you intend to send your child to modeling/acting school for $1000's.

They called themselves "ACT" and mentioned the name "Paul Weber"...was able to find them on the web before committing to book an appt. & glad we didn't waste our time with it.

I received information about this A.C.T. that they were putting auditions for a Hannah Montana commercial. My daughter loves Hannana Montana. She has never been in commercials, but I have always thought about putting her in some, so I thought this would be a great opportunity. I called the number and they set me up on an appointment. I did some further checking and when I looked at the calendar of events at the place where the audtions were to be held, there were no auditions listed. Who knows if this is a scam or not, but I am choosing to keep my daughter out of this one just in case.
