Robo call Convergent Outsourcing claiming to be a debt collector.  I'm not deliquent on anything so it can't be for me.  Besides, I think they send a letter before calling.

It was an automated call from a debt collector for a former boyfriend I haven't seen or heard from for nearly 20 years! He never used my phone number (that I'm aware of) so it's anyone's guess as to how they got my number. Pretty creepy if you ask me!

They sent me a letter claiming I owed money to Dish Network for supposedly not returning equipment 4 years ago. I did. Got no proof! It was 4 years ago. Paid them:(

Another corporate waster. They rang and left a Robo messages asking to call them back but of course, did not personalize the call. I believe they are wanting to you to call them and so get your name and work you from there. Of course, as soon as you give any name, they will 'find' a convenient debt that is 'owed' in order to fraudulently grab your cash. Ignore. If you do call, give a made-up a name, if they describe your 'debt', you know for sure that you are being scammed by robbers!

I am also on the do not call list. The sad this is this guy, with whom sounded like he was home or something, had heavy accent... asked for a specific name! Said call being recorded and would not tell me the nature of the call and said it is of a personal matter.

Well known criminal enterprise around here.  They don't care if you owe, they simply want you to pay so that they earn their commission.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Ok, this is a strange company record.  According to their web site, they are located in Atlanta, Ga and have been in business since 1955.
Now the BBB gives them a B rating with 891 complaints (The BBB removed 276 complaints so that they could upgrade them from an F to a B along with 2 negative reviews) and 63 negative reviews and a notation that there is a pattern to the complaints-namely that they routinely violate Federal collection laws.   They also say that the business was established in 1950, that they are headquartered in Washington State, and that they are registered with the Washington Dept. It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

The number  502 792 9550 called and asked for my husband. I told her he was at work. She left her name as Crystal Wood. and her phone number for him to return the phone call..... Hmm....I asked if I could take a message cause he's  my husband. She just  told me it was a personal matter...... That's all she told me.

This number is a debt collector for At & T and DIrect TV. Convergent Outsourcing is a debt collector that utilizes a call center with employees with foreign accents.

Called a couple of times. Left no message, until yesterday.  Ided themselve as'Converging Outsource".  Looking to collect a debt. Don't owe anyone. Scam. Caller ID just says "New OOrleans, La. Lists a local nuber, but, wants me to call them at877-227-0063. Beware.

This number harrasses me 8 times plus per day. I don't have any debt. I want these calls to stop asap. Please help!! They ask for people I have no acquaintance with and they threaten you on the phone about authorities being sent and threaren family members.
