This is ACS a charity fund raiser company.  I have told them repeatedly that I am unemployed for the past 23 months and please do not call me.... but they insist that I can spare $10....   Well my family comes first as Charity begins at home.

called. Granddaughter answered phone. They asked for me.  She hung up on them. Am on a  do not call list.  Do not want to talk to them, especially if it as you say.  I am on disability and cannot afford to send any money out.  Takes all I make to provide.....

we just lost a family member to Cancer and we told these callers this and asked to be respected and will make a donation when we get everything complete regarding our family member yet these callers continue to call. Do they not understand what we are going through in our home? BE RESPECTFUL of ours.

These people call,and never leave their names,calling all times very annoying

I receive 2 or 3 calls a day from this number.  I cannot stop them calling me.  Please help me.

It should be evident from this thread that predictive dialers do not care about your personal problems, and your verbal no-call demands are likely to be ignored. Send the boiler room a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with return card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft one.

The "ACS" acronym most likely equals commercial fundraiser Associated Community Services. These call centers sneak in as exemptions to the federal Do-Not-Call program but do not share the same protection as their often dubious "charity" clients. The FTC rules say: ''... if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000.''

I cannot get these people to stop calling.  They continue to call even when you tell them not to.  Now, I just ignore them, but it is a pain!

I am getting calls from this number from 8:20 in the morning to 08:45 at night. They sometimes let the answering machine pick up and stay on the line until disconnected. At other times, they will hang up after 4 rings. I, too am unemployed and I have spoken with four or five different telemarketers in the past two years and requested that they stop calling. It has done absolutely no good. When the phone rings I am hoping that it is a potential employer, not this "charity."  If their phone bill wasn't so high, maybe they'd have a little money for their cause.  What has happened to common courtesy?.

DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO THESE TELEMARKETERS!!!!!!  BEWARE!!!!!!!  They call me all the time and I never answer, so I finally decided to answer and ask them to stop calling.  The lady on the phone said I promised a 10.00 donation back in July and they had not recieved it yet.  I told her I never give donations over the phone and I would not be sending one, and to remove me from their list.  She was rude and hung up....that alone shows they are not really a loving charity!  I never promised 10.00 to them, flat out lie!!!!!!!!!!  FRAUD! FRAUD! FRAUD!

Got a call at 7:30 an, 10:30 am, 12;05 pm, 12:45, pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm, 7:30 pm and 9:45 pm. All in one day!!!!! How do I stop this????

These people have been calling me from 8am to 8pm from this (and several other numbers) on a daily basis. I have never actually done any kind of business with them and have no idea how they got my number or why they persist in calling.  It's been several months now, and they have called every single day. I have threatened, begged, and pleaded with them to stop.  It does no good.  Most are robo-calls but the few times I actually get to speak to someone, they claim to be ACS. I have explained to them that I work night shifts and sleep during the day and their calls constantly wake me up.  Unfortunately, as a medical professional, I need to be within telephone reach at all times, so I can not simply turn off my phone.  I have reported this number to every agency known to man.  I researched them via the Internet and found out they are a quasi-legal organization called Associated Community Services which keeps keeps the lion’s share of virtually every donation it collects. I read that "at least four attorneys general across the country and one Secretary of State, have gone after the company for a whole slew of alleged violations, including engaging in "manipulative, high-pressure fundraising tactics," and deceiving its donors." Obviously, my only recourse seems to be to change my phone number.  How sad that nothing can be done to stop these scamsters.

Between 8:54 a.m. and 3:04 p.m. today I have already gotten 6 calls from this number, and the day is not over yet. I will get at least 5 more. This is ludicrous. There has to be a way to block the annoying calls. Everyone wants money, well so do I. I am even considering getting rid of my phone. This is becoming very annoying.

These people use multiple numbers. And have misrepresented themselves as American Cancer Society (ACS) to me. I never answer when I get a call from 800 Service.

They call me at home twice in the morning and twice late in the evening. Now this morning, they called my cell! I never answer, but it's such a nuisance.
