    Dear Rita L. <ullins  .
800notes is not affiliated with your callers, we are not calling you either. 800notes is a forum for reporting who calls you and any information you may have about the call to share with other forum users. It is highly doubtful that your callers are reading here also.

Charities, along with some survey's and Political calls, are exempt from the DNC, however, they can still get into trouble for not placing you on a internal DNC when asked, you can also check your states laws in regards. Some states do not allow them to call on their state DNC laws which can differ from the federal.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Report your callers here if they continue to call and harass:

As a commercial fundraiser, ACS is expected to honor an internal no-call list and add any number upon request. Break that order, the FTC declares, and ''the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000.'' They are also covered to a point by other regulations for telepests, so you can complain to the FTC about abandoned calls, bot calls to mobile phones, and so on.

Like all non-sales calls, these are exempt from federal and state no-call registries, even though the call centers executing the recurring campaigns are very much for-profit and pocket most of what is collected. At times the ''charity'' client is itself a closet profit enterprise, compounding the deception. This has been exactly the unholy business model attributed to ACS and its many sound-alike bogus charity clients.

Because the amounts collected are rather small, these call centers are quite motivated to repeatedly hassle you. The worst of the industry will "reload" a donor multiple times a year, preferring forgetful and easily confused victims. Most if not all such phone farms assume that your no-call order, when given verbally or by keypress, conveniently expires when a client's campaign ends.

In comments from November 2012 and June 2013 linked below, I've discussed simple steps I took to rid myself of a major pain fundraising boiler room by politely rubbing its face in federal laws. You will note that I never rely on verbal cease-communication demands.

What company thinks it is okay to call after 9pm?!  TWICE!!!  Then when I finally did answer (because, I thought someone MUST be dying if they are calling that late), the lady made a joke about me being hard to reach.  Yeah, because I go to bed early so I can be up at 4am you twerp!  I don't mind giving to charity, if I have it to give.  But I don't like inconsiderate [***].  So, no...I will not ever be giving to this one.

Now its the scammers using the names of charities spoofing caller IDs and phone numbers.

Amazing that I have to pay tax on every phone I have yet these people are purchasing whole lots of phone exchanges, spooking telephone numbers and caller IDs and probably pay no taxes and are using tax incentive financing to sponsor their illicit businesses paid for by us.

The FTC and the do not call org folks can't do anything any more because they are now referred to as Cuckolds purchased by products of those changing the laws for the good of illegitimate businesses.

That is the way things are today.  Sad.

The woman, Vanessa, they are all Vanessa, called be a week ago from another number for Childrens Cancer Recovery Foundation or something similar.  I researched the charity and found it too be the 11th worst charity in America, and so printed out the review, and mailed it back with my "pledge card". When I grabbed the phone tonight at dinner i said "Is this Vanessa?" she was shocked, and said she was. I said checks in the mail,  and she hung up. I have no idea who the "unavailable" number was snakeoiling for tonight, but I think I will just keep on asking everyone if they are Vanessa and follow my own script. So sick of these people. i gave 20.00 to a "Police charity" via phone 6 years ago and never ever again will I donate cash over the phone. My bad. Looks like VA. is the current state for these folks. I wish  Call Type below had mooch as a choice.

According to my callerID log, they have called me 29 times this month, at all hours of the day.  About 10x calls ago I answered and demanded they stop calling me, but the saucy southern voice at the other end insisted I could spare the money.  When she would not even respond to my DNC request, I hung up.  They have continued calling.  Will be contacting the phone company to have the number blocked.

Called me and said they were calling on behalf of breast cancer. They tried to get me to commit to a donation over the phone but I would not. I told them to send me something in writing which they did. Looks official but then I remembered that I sponsored a walk for breast cancer coming up in April so that should cover me. I am not rich by any means so I can't afford to give to both. If they call again I will tell them that.
