2 calls on my landline first for me by name 2 hrs later for my husband by nae who r these people it was not a recording

I keep telling them to stop calling but they continue to do so, and apologize when I tell them to stop.

This is another scam charity affiliated with AC services, do not make a donation! They will never stop bothering you with calls for all the charities they fund raise for!
FYI that is not a real human on the initial call that is a robotic voice, you can confuse it by asking questions not related to the call.

Called before 9 AM. Normally don't pick up unknown callers, but they came in on "distinctive ring" -- not a random dial since they asked by name --  they have (probably illegal) access to a reverse directory with every number.

Said "AC" paid fundraiser for Law Enforcement.  I didn't bother to ask if they were a 501-c-3 (few police solicitations seem to be) and just told them to removed our number from the list.  We only respond to mail solicitations and a few phone charities that we already know and have full caller ID.

They called many other times but we were not home and/or did not pick up - never left a message.

They call all day, everyday, morning, noon and night.

If you want them to stop calling you and they've ignored your requests to place your phone number on their internal Do Not Call list, then I would file a complaint with your state Office of Attorney General, Charities, and tell them the fundraiser is ignoring your request to be placed on their internal DNC list and you want the calls to stop.
