I would like to know what I need to do they are now calling me unknown should I get an attorney also?

I had a call from this number tonight and they left a message for my husband but supposedly in regards to a person that he does know (although a common name so who knows).  Said it was an investigation and my husband was a person of interest in the matter regarding this other person.  What the heck does that mean?  I have no debt whatsoever, have never taken out a payday loan (nor has my husband) and checked all 3 credit reports as well.  Clean.  What is this and what to expect?

A woman from Jacobsen and Associates left a message for my daughter (using her first name only with "Miss" attached) saying that there was a legal problem that she needed to take care of.  I called back and spoke to a male.  We went back and forth, leaving me on hold.  I gave them no info and asked what the legal matter concerned and that they must be mistaken.  I kept at them asking for more information about "the matter" and they said they needed to speak only to Miss (my daughter's first name) and some intelligible last name that seemed to be a mush of our street name and last name.  I never corrected them. They finally said there was a mistake and that they would take me off of their list as the person they wanted couldn't possibly be my daughter because she was born in 1938.  Hmmmm.  Are they targeting older people?  Both the male and female I spoke with had terrible grammar, not something a legitimate law firm would tolerate in employees.  Bogus, bogus.

A man claining to be agent Nash, stated that my daughter owed $458.60, also provide a name for an attorney from this law firm. The attorney being Stephanie Cowell.

An investigator Nash has called twice to my home. Stating that he is with the D.A.'s Office Warrants Division. He says to have my Criminal Attorney or myself call him back immediately. He let's me know that the messages he's leaving aswell as the messages I am leaving him while trying to contact him are being recorded for the D.A.'s Office. It's clearly evident that he's not from around hear just posing as because we don't have a D.A. we have a Prosecuting Attorney in Springfield, MO. They are using scare tactics and not obeying the law.

Hi, I pay my Bills!  I don't go on websites like this and embarrass myself.  I don't try to place myself above the rest!  I don't try to make myself look like I'm better that the rest, why you ask? Because I PAY MY BILLS!!!!   People that Pay there BILLS, don't have these collection calls from any collection agencies! Many of the people (Me included) are not receiving calls for themselves, but for other people; even vague acquaintances.  We only received 1 call from this number but it rattled me so much in the message that I found this site when I looked up the number.  Made it seem like a person (with a very common name so it could be a legit acquaintance of my husband's or made up) was in serious trouble and a criminal case was being discussed.  What the heck!  For the record, I do pay my bills...on time.  But it seems this company is trolling for dollars and who knows if this is legit.

YOU ARE NUTS IF YOU THINK PEOPLE ARE GONNA COME TO YOU TO SUE US!  YOU CHARGE A FEE RIGHT?  DO YOU SUE US FOR FREE?  DIDN'T THINK SO!  YOU WOULDN'T be here if you are so good and overflowing with $$$ Right?  What makes you believe they will pay you and they don't pay there bills?  DUH!!!!!  They say:  "Some where in the world is the worst Attorney". I think we just found him!!!  I'm sure the phone will be ringing off the hook.....in the FIRST MONTH OF SUNDAYS!!!!!!!! lol lol lol.!!!

If you conducted your business lawfully Jacobson wouldn't have two cases pending litigation in federal court.

But if you must know how a lawyer would get paid by suing you. Under the 1692k of the FDCPA, a lawyer is entitled to recover fees for the action. Which means, if successful, the consumer gets up to 1k in statutory damages plus any actual damages plus costs, and the lawyer gets reasonable attorney's fees, usually around 2k-3k per case he or she successfully litigates.

I keep getting calls from these people for acquaintances as well.  I am quite irritated by them, as I owe them no money, nor have I done business with them at any point in the past.  Evidently, I was used as a reference, and thus I'm now being bombarded with telephone calls.

I have been getting calls for the past week i know i owe the money and i have been paying it off. well Marval and Associates called me being Very rude on JUly 28th 2010 i had told him what i could pay and he said it was not good enought i needed the hold amount or he would not take anything nor give me a adress so i could try and get it then he went on to the fact he was calling the DA in my town. Well on the 31st of July he gave a call back saying he talked to the Da on the 30th of July and if i didnt not have 200. sent in by 12 i would be going to jail and then on Aug 3 i needed 400 more which my loan was never that amount. so i will send what i can to get it paid they say the will not take money orders nore a card over the phone which they did already for me so the most i can do is pay what i can and if they dont not take it then they will be the one in fault noti.

Who do these [***] think they are?  Telling me they CAN'T provide documentation and then call back 30 minutes later w/a court date?  WTF-eva!  I'll take THIS issue up with "their" client. Some man FRANK talks to me like I am some loser off the street? Oh no, that is so unprofessional!  You won't be unkind and disrepectful to ME then tell me "Well I wouldn't take a payment from you anyways, what is your HR dept. fax #".  But won't send me the "court papers" he claims he has one me.
