We are not a third party.  Member services should not say that. I work for the department and actually work directly out of the Anthem building. I mean I would hope they would tell me if I'm working for a 3rd party.

I received 2 calls stating that the calls were time sensitive from blue cross blue shield and to call them back. They provided reference numbers as well. I called Blue cross blue shield directly and spoke with both their member services line and the other major department (their nurse line) and were told by both that there were no notes in the account that anyone reached out to us for anything regarding our insurance. If this department is legitimate as stated by some other posts, I would think they would all be working out of the same system that can notate/remark accounts and requests for customer information so that way when people do call in there is history of outbound calls being made. Without this type of verification, unfortunately I will NOT provide any personal information, including DOB

Also recieved 2 calls from this number.  Called Anthem directly on the member number and was told there was no number associated with Anthem. They also confirmed there was also nothing in the recordd about anyone calling me. Discussions about MRI are between the Dr, Facility doing the MRI and Anthem.  There would be no need for anyone to call privately other than to set the scheduled date for the procedure.

They called today and left a message, I called back and got some snooty punk kid. The punk did not like me questioning who he was and from where copped an attitude right away. Let him have his attitude right back, Called Anthem and they did not see a record for anyone except the nurses calling me and then transferred me to that team. Seems like a real scammer to me

An MRI itself is only around $1200 how would you be paying 1300 out of pocket?

I've gotten a call from this number every day for the last week.  I also have to get an MRI but it has not been scheduled yet.  I was suspicious from the get-go because my insurance never calls me, so I called member services from the number on the back of my card.  The representative said there were no outgoing calls to me and no flags or any messages for me that were on my account.  I gave her the number that was calling and she said it was not an anthem number and probably a scam.  I also started getting random text messages from what looks like an email at the same time these calls started happening.  Block and report these numbers, they are not legit!

Called claiming to be Anthem Blue Cross and requested my name, then DOB.  When I didn't provide it, and questioned whether the call was legitimate, they told me to call them back at 877-309-4886.  They said the number would validate it was legitimate.

I called the number on the back of my card.  Anthem said it looked like one of their numbers, but they don't typically call and had no record of contacting me.  Rep agreed it was suspicious.

That is the phone number to the Anthem AIM shopper line. If you have any kind of imaging you are about to have done they reach out and try to assist with finding a cheaper option.

Not sure why the whole process still seems sketchy or why an insurance provider doesn’t promote this type of service. Having someone act as an “insurance concierge” is a no-brainer b/c navigating insurance claims and trying to determine costs for different services sucks.

This is a valid call from a department with Anthem BCBS that lets members know comparable prices in their area for imaging ordered by their doctor. You can call Anthem's Member Services number on the back of your card and ask about it.

Same story as all of above. Within a few hours after my MRI had been scheduled, I received a call from the same number. I was given a reference number and when I gave that reference number to the person she demanded my name and birthdate.When she still would not tell me what she was calling about and HIPAA required the information so they could identify me, I said I think this is a scam. She kept saying HIPPA demands it and I kept saying this is a scam as they already had my name and Blue Cross info, I finally said four letter word to HIPAA and she hung up. I now have the number blocked. Called Blue Cross Blue shield number on the back of the card and they said they get too many reports like this and they can't follow them up but no one called me. I also reported to AARP fraud line as I'm concerned people could get caught in this. I wonder where the leak is that causes this fake company to phone you within hours after an MRI within the system has been made.

They wanted my date of birth. Have had this insurance for years and NEVER have they called me. I wouldn’t give it to her so I think she discontinued the call
