No, not really.

A lot of posters on 800notes complain they get many calls from scammers.
A few posters state they get hardly any.
Why the difference?  Here are possible reasons.

Click on the associated "Info" line under any statement to read why NOT to use that method.

Answering the phone when the caller's number is unfamiliar

Pressing a number "to be taken off the list"

Returning the call.

Arguing with the caller:

Blowing a horn or whistle into the phone:

Forwarding the call to a government office.

Giving or forwarding the supposed scammer's phone number to other scammers.

Getting a new phone number.    

Giving up your landline (if you have a landline)

What you SHOULD do:
If you are disturbed by frequent calls from scammers / spammers. obtain a call blocker app, device, phone, or service.  Google is your friend.  Remember, the Do Not Call list is designed to prevent calls from legitimate, registered telemarketers, but scammers / spammers are not legitimate telemarketers, do not register, and they ignore the DNCL or your requests!

There is a  old debt 11 years ago a 200 dollar rbc overdraft but in Nova Scotia after 6 years they are not sopposed to call you I want them to stop calling my credit is clean I don't owe anything

You might consider a call blocker.  Also do not pick up
on call numbers you do not recognize.

I did blocked them as ther are calling my cell not land line they just call with a different number

They have been calling me daily for several months. I didn't not provide much information when I first spoke with themy and they told me it was regarding a past phone bill that is outstanding. I know there is no money due and called the phone company. They also assured me that my balance was ZERO and they were also confused as to why a collector was calling me in regards to it. I can't help but to feel as though this company is a scam and have started to document calls. Not sure how to report them, but I'd love to shut them down. Waste of everyone's time and energy.

I've also been getting harassed by this company. However I don't have an outstanding debt of any kind from any company.  Also, they are asking directly for ME! I have blocked them as well and they just continue to  call. Not sure how to deal with this form of harassment.

CBV Collections. They never leave a VM, so I decided to call them multiple times in a day pressing redial and not say a word.

keeps calling, no message left

They Keep calling me, but I don't owe any money.  I've asked them to send something in the mail and they won't do it until I confirm who I am.  I refuse to do it.  They call many times a day, but leave no message.

Same, the debt they are calling me about is over 8 years old!!!!! and not even on my credit and it's under $200.

I listened from another time of day I didn't change numbers you are losing your mind and your job if you call again. You said nothing about birth dare when you call before. Yes you are gonna get yelled at by me cuz I don't owe any unknown number that I don't know. If you don't like it call me again and ask meee for what cuz they give you recycled numbers and it isn't anything to do with me. Don't innply I'm being evasive when I give you an honest answer. No calling necessary no person by that name and I had someone steal my other info. Too bad no Ching Chingchinese language I have it on. Now I'm letting you go to check a few features. I don't care if you put up a report on your complaint on my phone about falsehoods no case sorry.

Complete morons! They all multiple times per day and speak to my voicemail as if its a person. "Hello, hello" ... Are you people [***] or something? I can't believe they waste so much time calling a # where nobody will ever answer. Move along idiots!

Well it looks like this number is active once again. They have called me twice now! Sheesh constantly having to block these numbers! 😓
