These people have been calling for months, and never leave a message. Last night I even answered and no one responded. I finally called back and it was Earthlink. An operator told me they were calling with an offer. I canceled the account with them. I wanted to stop the service a long time ago it was the last straw. I don't like solicitation calls!

An overwhelming number of calls which were, on my phone, listed as "TOLL FREE",  I finally answered and they identified themselves as EARTHLINK.  Since I am an Earthlink user the "do not call" list is not in effect.  However, I promised Earthlink, by Email from my account, that in short order the Do Not Call provisions will come into effect.

I canceled my earthlink account nearly a year ago, and yet this number continues to come up on caller id.  I don't answer it.  Telling them not to call, or being on the DO NOT CALL list haven't helped.  The good news is the calls have dropped from daily to about once a month now.

It's the MS Society soliciting you for a donation.  I called the number back, and that's the automated answer message.

There are two reports on the comments board. One indicates the number belongs to Earthlink.
The other indicates it is from the MS Society.
I will answer the next time they call and ask. They never leave a message.

Often the number reads only as "416"
They constantly ask if there is someone by a name at our address, but they only start with an initial.  We will not acknowledge them and they do not introduce themselves.  They are calling over 3 times a day and won't take no for an answer.  They are tracing someone, but that does not mean they have to be abnoxious and persistent and irresponsible.

I received a phone call at 8:52 am on a Sunday morning. They claimed to be from earthlink and where trying to get me to pay a month in advance.My bill is 44$ a month they wanted me to authorize a payment for 19$ next month which is august.Personally I think its a scammer.I told him that i wouldn't authorize the payment as long as my account was in good standing.He said "Thanks an is there any thing else I can help you with?"like I was the one who called him.

The phone rings and this number appears 877-333-6679, leading a person to believe it's a charity or something....Wrong. When we answer the call, and no one is on the other end. I no longer wish for my mom to be bothered by this annoying phone call. My research tells me its a company called Earthlink, why would a company we have never dealt with be calling us????

This number in Canada is from the MS Society of Canada and they are looking for donations on their 2009 campaign. This portion of the 877 number is assigned to them and applies to all calls made in Canada.

For calls made within the USA it appears to be Earthlink. Their 877 number works within the 48 continuous states (lower 48) only.

When I answered a call from this number today they asked for the house owner, I advised they were not available and as usual said "may I ask whose calling?". She said no, and hung up.

Update... I just called the number back and an automated message advises it is in fact the MS Society of Canada calling for 2009 donations.  I called the MS Society directly at 416-922-6065 (toronto area) or 1 800 268-7582 (to find your regional department) for confirmation this is their telemarketing department calling, and it is.  Through them I was able to request to be put on the "do not call list".  They advised my request would be sent to their telemarketing department.  Hopefully it works.

I called back this number and it states "reservations and ticketing, Debbie speaking" no company name given.  I live in Canada - so I have no idea who this is.

I'm in Canada and have recently been plagued with calls from 877-333-6679 - every day and sometimes twice a day.  We let the answering machine pick up calls from numbers we don't recognize, but no message is ever left.  I e-mailed the MS Society (info@mssociety.ca)to ask if these calls do indeed originate there, and I got a confirmation in reply.  I was assured that my number would be put on its Do Not Call list but that it would take a few days - that was only yesterday, so it hasn't happened yet, they keep coming.

Calls from 1 877 333 6679 two three times a day they never answer.How do you stop these no good blank blank.
