- houstonian replies to houstonianGoogle Profit is a scam...I had signed up since it looked like a legit article from CNN.com but in truth it was a link that was disguised to look like CNN article from CNN.com's homepage; I have already emailed CNN.com and since has been removed. If anyone signed up for this please respond here. I had read that this was a scam and had already canceled it, but I think that this may be linked to this other scam; basically they charge you a rate and call you and take your CC number....then they repeatedly charge you. I never gave them authorization, but I did sign up for this over a month ago online but quickly canceled same day after doing a bit of research.
- houstonian replies to kristiK, no way to stop them until the internet is regulated. And, if they are overseas, from my understanding most countries have zero laws to prevent this kind of scam.
FOR EVERYONE, get a new CC issued, use a very good Internet Security on your computer, and if you have the ability to use randomly generated account numbers for online purchases through your CC company USE THEM (Discover has this).
Good Luck and this kind of thing will only continue to happen more often so set your account settings to email you for ALL transactions; create an email address just for this if you don't want all these, but sadly this is the only solution that I can come up with.
S - Sher| 1 replyI didn't get a call, but an email from Wyatt Johnson with Web Host Services Online, with a report of a $99 charge to my credit card. Tried to call them, but they hung up on me. I called my Chase Visa right away. They are reporting the fraudulent charge, took it off my card, and are sending me a NEW credit card today. A little bit of a hassle, with vendors charging me at the end of the month, but I've contacted them all to hold until I receive my new card # tomorrow.
- L replies to LI have been working on this since 1/25/2010. I called bck for the 3rd day and was told that they did not have record of this accnt being canceled. Go figure. now I am told that it will take another 5 to 7 business days for this to to be refunded. I finally got a conf # of the acct be counceled and conf# for the refund amount of 47.50..FYI MAKE SURE THAT WHOEVER YOU ARE TALKING WITH YOU GET THEIR NAME AND GET YOUR CONF#'S
- L replies to SherStay on top of this. Even with getting a new card these company's have a way to grt that info. They say they can because it is in the fine print.
- rowrowfightdapowa| 1 replyI just got ahold of them. They got me for 89.26, and refuse to refund it saying that it's completely valid. I told them to cancel my account, and then called my bank, Chase, and failed a fraud claim. The Web Host Service charge is still pending, but once it posts Chase says that they'll be able to dispute it for me. I recommend going through your bank instead of trying to get the fraud site to refund you;
- L replies to rowrowfightdapowaWe was able to get our $47.50 back finaly today. You just have to keep fighting with this group. Make sure you do a follow up with them to make sure your acct is closed. They have been know to keep it open
- PoorStudentinArkansas| 2 replies$99 was taken from my account using my debit card number. I did get to talk to a person (thinking this was customer service of a real business) when I called to clear it up, but they told me they refused to issue a refund saying it was a legitimate charge since they had entered all my correct info and the person doing this had clicked that they agreed to the terms and conditions. What's the best advice to get justice on this? I need every penny I make.
- EMS replies to DedeThey are trying to hit my VISA for 45.81. I have emailed them (3) times!! Filthy [***]!!!!! They will NOT win!
- USnavySEAL replies to PoorStudentinArkansas| 1 replyLike everyone else has said, your best bet for anyone having this unfortunate issue occur to them is to deal directly with your bank. I have been trying to fight back and forth with the fraud company and they are just a bunch of filthy pricks. They messed with the wrong person. I spoke with a Thomas who repeatedly told me that "it was in the agreement when I signed up for the account." He would say this regardless of me telling him that I had not signed up for ANYTHING. I plan on driving out to Utah this weekend and seeing how the company feels about someone actually showing up on their door step (if the address is legitimate on their website). I also had some stuff pulled to see who owns the website and the company is using a subcompany to block the information that people have to submit in order to obtain domains and what not. This is a scam that will be stopped. In the mean time, people just need to watch what they do with their credit/debit cards. I know I will be watching mine more closely. I'll post an update when I find out more. But, for now, the only easy day was yesterday. Hooyah!
- ScammedI too was scammed by this GOOGLE Profit. This is likely a continuing problem with this company which takes your money. They also sold my e-mail to a bunch of companies. I used to have NO SPAM. Now I get 50-60 SPAMS a day. It really sucks. Do not sign up for anything with Google profit. They are in no way connected with Google. I got the e-mail from Wyatt Johnson with WebHostSErvicesonline.com. Don't fall for the scam.
- pete replies to Dedehey........I just got the same thing
- itiscriminal| 3 repliesI got no call, they charged my credit card and sent an email for $85.26. Thankfully credit card companies are helpful. How are they getting your information? My computer is virus scanned every day. I too called the number and got a leave a message routine. Too bad people cannot use this energy for something helpful to society instead of such destructive behavior.

- lawyerThe same thing just happened to my credit card in Arkansas. This company and my credit card company will be in trouble because they let the charge go through when they didn't even have the right billing address. Has anybody gotten any relief?
- Atlanta residentI got a $92.37 charged from http://webhostservicesonline.com when I am not buy any service from them. I have no idea what happened but I called and stop to us charge card first. Something really bad happened online. I am scared for online information.

- SteveRThey got me for $69.97. I filed a complaint with the BBB of Utah. Here is the company info if you need it:
Web Host Services LLC
1530 N. Technology Way
Orem, UT 84097
They are not BBB accredited and the BBB shows no complaints against them. I find that hard to believe. Here is the link to their BBB profile if you wish to take a look:

- Jeff from Michigan replies to DakotahIt has happened to myself. Go to your bank and turn them in as a fraudulent company. Ask your bank for reimbursement as this was an unauthorized use of my debit. If everyone does this, the banks will catch on. I am hoping there is a potential class action suit brought on this fraudulent company.
- steph replies to USnavySEALThat's awesome - I'll be anxious to hear the outcome of your visit. I am in Vermont so too far away to visit these #$*^% jerks. Good luck!!!
