- Phantom101| 1 replyReceived a call from 1-877-349-2283. CID was 800 Service. I gave it the old one ring pickup and immediate hang up.
- annoyeLeft message that I should call regarding Plan D. They left a pin number for me to reply. I am sure it is a scam. I hope they can get caught.

- LuluFord| 1 replyThanks folks. 877 are always some kind of crap caller. I blacklisted them in my call blocker. Too bad you can't answer your phone any more. I set my answer machine to two rings (the minimum). I block 90% of my calls.

800 Service
=================
Called in this evening. All calls that are '800 Service' in caller ID or have an exchange of 8xx are just never answered.
There are exceptions, expected and previous legitimate business calls like 'AMEX Customer', 'IRS xxx', 'EVGA Cust SVC'. How they are rare though. My T-Lock Call Blocker does my answering these days.

Mine is sold by HQTELECOM. This model has a difficult time remembering the current year, likes to fall back to 2012 most of the time. It is clumsy to program, may not be good for your grandmother or people easily befuddled by cell phones or VCRs. It does not utilize caller ID names. I have a Uniden answering machine + five cordless satellite phones and it works just fine to pick-up/hang-up all the unwanted calls. It is inexpensive, that is the reason it is clumsy -- no bells, whistles, or fantastic user interface.
What it does have -
A 1500 number capacity to black list, phone numbers, partial phone numbers, area codes, and outgoing phone numbers.
You can block incoming calls with NO Caller ID information (private and many spoofed numbers).
You can block an area code (for me, no incoming from Washington DC, sorry Mr. President.) from getting through.
You can block a partial number. For example: area code + exchange.
You can blacklist up to fifty outgoing numbers from being called by your phone, e.g. your daughter's boyfriend?
If you hit the 'Blacklist' button accidently, you have to go through the blacklist numbers to find and remove it from the list of blocked numbers. It is annoying but not difficult.

- Jim-Massachusetts replies to LuluFordI added the (877) area code to be blocked.
It may be interesting to see what I miss from this. Most likely, only junk comes in this area code. - Lorraine SchlueterI keep getting a call from 1-877-349-2283. Believe it is a Scam call.
- Martha| 1 replyThe call was from First Health Part D with Coventry/Aetna. The message left was related to the Part D health care part of Medicare.

- SALESMAN FOR INSURANCE replies to Phantom101Plan d is an insurance company selling.
Or renewing.
I dont like it that they use computer tel numbers not advising you who is calling. - MuteI was not home to take the call when it came in @ 12:05 pm. Caller ID showed 'Toll Free Call' followed by the number in question.
I noticed all the posts above were from 2015. Strange there weren't more posts in 2016. (?)
Hopefully the next time this caller calls I'll be home to take the call and provide more information.- Caller: TOLL FREE CALLER
- md877-349-2283 is an incredibility smelly, slimy scammer trying to sell insurance. He needs to go out of business, pay hefty fines and share a prison cell with Bubba. This is a worthless lowlife that's a horrible excuse as a human. Block em Danno.

- Caller: Aetna-Coventry, toll free
- Mr. MeniCuriously I actually have Aetna-Coventry Part D Health Insurance (Medicare) but there was nothing but silence when I answered the phone, something I rarely do btw. Normally I would block the number but I'll wait and see if they call back.
- Caller: Aetna-Coventry Plan D Medicare
- LesA legitimate call (one of the few I receive) from Aetna-Coventry Part D (Medicare) informing me of changes in my coverage next year. A telephone number was provided to call for specifics, which I did. As I telephoned from the number associated with my account, their automated system gave my name and asked me to confirm, with a "yes" or “no,” that I was he, and then it described the specific changes. No other input was required of me unless I wished to speak with someone for additional information or for clarification.
- Caller: Aetna-Coventry

- ChrisIt really is Aetna calling about part D insurance. They didn't ask for sensitive information. It is annoying though that they had already informed me about what they were calling about via letter.
- Caller: Aetna Coventry
- Call type: Valid
- justmeThey left a message. It is supposedly Coventry Health - my medicare drug plan provider. However, this number is not the one the automated message left to call back
- Caller: Coventry Health
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- kenlI also have part D with aetna and I also already got updated via mail. I am now suspicious about this call as when I called back they did not id themseelves and later when I ansered another call from them it was a recording asking me questions to verify my identity. now they have a recording of me saying "yes" several times and suddenly I do not feel wonderfull about that.
