- schrodingerTotal scam. If you think you have bond money that's owed to you, you can call your county and they will look it up for you. If they do owe you money, you can get it directly from them.
Big red flags were the $59.99 fee, and the very poorly written text. I called my county's Bond Forfeiture office just to make sure that I didn't have any money in their coffers, and was assured that I didn't. I had posted a bond a while ago and clearly recall getting my money back (less a small part of a fine that didn't get covered with my short jail stay). My total matched what the county had on file. I also alerted them to the scam, and they knew about it... thankfully!
Do NOT fall for this. If you have any question as to whether you are truly owed money by your county, CALL THE COUNTY, not these clowns.- Caller: Cash Bond Refund Corporation
- Steve RI got a letter from the El Paso office of Cash Bond Refund Corporation telling me I had a $1100.00 refund coming to me from a bond I posted for my nephew in 2013. They wanted $60.00 to send me the 'kit' to begin processing the claim. And yes, once you purchase the kit, no refunds! I called the county district clerk who looked up the case. This was for a child support case and the bond money goes directly to child support and cannot be refunded. This company should have known that. How they got the records for this bond, I don't know. But I would have been out $60 if I had sent it to them. This company is a scam!
