These people have called me and I allow it to go to voice mail and then when I check its some automated response, when I call back, they ask me to leave a message.  I think not!

I have recieved 16 calls with no voice message left on my phone.  I do not answer unknown numbers.

These guys are calling me constantly - They were supposed to send out proof of the debt MONTHS ago and they never did.  I advised them that this collection has spanned from the billing department at the original creditor using an "outdated billing code" per my insurance company.  I had spent countless calls between the insurance company and the original creditor advising the OC to re-submit the claim to the insurance company using the updated billing code and that the money that they were looking for would be paid per the insurance company themselves well before this was sent to this collection agency.  All I got were 10,000 excuses from the OC's billing department as to why they couldn't talk to the insurance company - they were out of state, they wouldn't talk to them even if they tried calling, etc., etc. - I was put in the middle, and now I have this collector trying to get me to pay a bill for a covered expense that was the billing department's mistake!  I told the collection agency to stop calling and advised that if the OC would like this heard in a court, I would be more than happy to oblige and produce all of the documentation from the insurance company showing that this is the result of the original creditor's mistake - this collection agency just kept trying to get me to give them my current employer's info, my husband's employer info, other contact numbers - which I refused and he just said "Well, then I can't work out a possible payment plan for you."  Apparently, this guy just can't get it through his head - There are plenty of bills that I owe, believe me, but this isn't one of them and they won't produce proof and they won't leave me alone!  What do I do???

keep calling and leaving messages for me to call them back with a reference number never say who they are with or what they want. when i call the number back it goes straight to music and never says the name of the company i had to google the number. what in the world is going on?

Had caller call my human resources department and ask for a verification of employment... Is it legal for them to do this? I have nevr heard of a debt collector do this before...

This number has also been calling my work. They will never state what the reason for the call is.

they've called me like 2 times already. The first time they said it was Tony Banner looking for so and so and his number was 877-395-3125 on a saturday. The 2nd time thay called was on a monday at 4:52pm they didn't leave there name it was just a machine recording and they left a reference#. I have no idea who this is or what they want.

I received a call today at work.  I took a message, later called them back.  They refused to tell who they are, but had no problem with asking for my SSN.  I refused to give that to them

They called my husband's parents house looking for him.  I called them back and the girl (Hilary Banks, believe it or not) was very nice.  Turns out it was past due medical bills, so she helped me take care of it so it wouldn't go on his credit report.

They have to call to check if there's any state left from that deceased person.

Yes, is totally legal to verify your employment if you refuse to pay your debt. They do that before they garnish your wages. If you know that's your bill is better to make payment arrangements with them so no legal action is taken against you.

They cannot divulge any information to somebody that is not the debtor.It's a gainst the law. That's why they have to verify either your ssn, date of birth or first and last name.

they keep calling every 1-2 days asking for some woman i've never even heard of on my personal cellphone

there calling a 13 year old about some lady that she never even heard of i don't answer because i can't really remember the number but you think they'd get the hint it's a wrong number

Called my cell phone three times over a course of two days, then on the third day called twice more and left a voicemail asking for a person (who wasn't even me or anyone I knew) to call back regarding "important personal business."

This number is calling my sister's house whose phone number is not even in a name close to mine but they ask for me. Supposedly it's regarding personal business concerning a medical bill from Baxter Medical Center in Mtn. Home, Arkansas. How can I owe them money if we never use them?

Will not connect you to a real person EVER. Mail box is full when you try to leave a message. I have reported them to the gov. in regards to calling for a person who doesnt have this number.
