Medicredit actually will take cease and decist over the phone. Be aware that if you tell them to cease and decist they are not able to contact you by mail or phone. Unfourtnatly they are still able to report on your credit and file suit. FYI

Well sometimes eating and feeding your kids is more important than paying a medical bill.

And they are not allowed to give info to your sponse. PERIOD. unless they have authorization to spk with him.

I'm not sure who is calling me, but they can quit.

Actually, there is a statute of limitations, they are not allowed to call you after the debt is 7 years old

it is ILLEGAL (contact ftc.gov-also Minnesota dept of commerce) that they are contacting u at work! they are liars. i corrected an insurance issue that i had and they're still calling me. not to mention, they cannot call outside the hours of 8am to 9pm. they are calling me at 10 and after at night.
u can request not to be contacted by phone and that u only do business by mail and they HAVE TO ABIDE! its bad out there. they tell u that u have to cease and desist. this is not the case! u have to let them know NOT TO CONTACT U!

I wonder if everyone that receive calls from 1-877-395-3125 have prepaid phones from T-Mobile, as I have. I use my phone only as a spare phone to call my wife. And I give my number to serious company that I trust over the web, only a few. I am not that important as a customer, that a normal company should phone me over hundreds of times. It should be too expensive for them to call me or leave a voice message. And to everybody else. It must be something else....

As I said, my phone is prepaid. This means that it costs each day that I use my phone. If I call someone or if I get a call, I will pay that day plus the normal fees.

Who wants me to receive calls everyday?! Who pay this guy? I'm sure, what do you think?

I just received a call from this company looking for a "Shaun Edwards".  Now, no one in my household has that last name.  This is in fact Medicredit.  However, when I called, I was connected with Casey and she wanted me to repeat my phone number to her.  I caught onto her game and asked her to read the number on her caller ID back to me and then informed her that there is no one with the last name Edwards in our home as we all have a Hispanic last name.  She gracefully apologized for the inconvenience and told me it could take 24-48 hours to process.

It's illegal for them not to identify that they are debt collectors trying to collect a debt. ILLEGAL. File a complaint. Consumer Law Center will handle this for you for free, and although it's a bit of work to collect  the info, it's well worth it.

This Company calls me and tells me that they are Medicredit Corp. and are collecting a debit.
Will not give any other information pertaining to WHO or What they are collecting for!!
I DO NOT WANT THEM CALLING ME!!! I would prefer that they contact me in writing.

Fair Debt Collection Practices Act,Not many people know about this. Rules and regulations for collections......This states the practices that are ILLEGAL by collectors and rights of the deptors.

Keep calling do not tell us why they are calling asking for social security number and date of birth

I pay my bills...the calls I'm getting from these fools are for someone who had the phone number before I got it, MR. KNOW-IT-ALL!

If you know the name of the company calling you, you need to write them a letter telling them to stop calling you at your place of employment.  Send it certified mail, return receipt requested so you have proof they received it.  This should stop the calls at work.  They can be sued and found liable if they continue to call you after you have sent them a letter telling them to cease and desist.  I work in the legal field and have had experience dealing with this situation.  This won't stop them from calling you at home, but it will take care of them harrassing you at work.

WRONG!
I've known plenty of people who pay their bills, and they'd still get calls from collectors. Even when the collectors are told they have the wrong person / number, they still persist, hoping that even if you are not the correct person, you'll eventually give in and just pay to stop the harassment. I've also known people that worked in the collection industry who quit, because in order to succeed, you need to be a truly soulless POS who cares nothing about personal integrity.

I have received too many,numerous calls from this #,it is harassing and I wish it to stop now.
