got a message telling me to call that number or i would be charged $325 for a renewal of Geek squad   never had that to renew  most likely a scam

This is a total scam. I did buy a new computer over the holidays through Best buy who has geek squad. So I thought it was possible. When I called and asked what this was for they said to protect the computer for malware for the next two years. When I asked which computer they said home computer. I proceeded to them I have 3 computers they said any computer. I told them to cancel they asked me to go to my computer. I said no, I'm not home and do not want to be charged for something. The rep didn't respond just put me on hold with some foreign music. I just hung up.

A Deduction of $359  From your Account  To Cancel or continue please call us on 877-399-1204.... called the number and I said “I’ve never used geek squad before so I’m not sure what this would be about.” There was about 10 seconds of silence and then the call dropped

Just got the same text - I’m not inclined to call the number. Should I just ignore it?

Rec'd text message from 855-429-0785 advising: "Your Geek Computer Subscription is going to be auto renew today. A Deduction of $359 From your Account. To Cancel or continue please call us on 877-399-1204."  Appears to be a scam.

I received a text message on February 15, 2021 that read "Your Geek Computer Subscription if Going to Be auto renew today.  A Deduction of $359 From your Acount To Cancel or continue please call us on 877-399-1204.  I hve never had a Geek Computer subscription.

Received same text about 5 minutes ago.

Also received a text stating, "Your Geek Computer Subscription is Going to Be auto renew today. A Deduction of $359 From your Account To Cancel or continue please call us on 877-399-1204." Exactly as it's written which is poorly written. Why would you put capital letters on some of the words? I'm going to call Best Buy's customer service when I get a chance. Received this at 8:22 am today Chicago time.

Some text when I said to cancel they hung up scam

Their grammar is completely wrong. That should be the first signal that it’s a scam, but most people are stupid and don’t know how to structure a [***] sentence anymore. Oh well.

Called Geek Squad about this "renewal". I was told that they only have 2 contact numbers and this 877 number was NOT one of them.
Deleted the text and blocked the number.
Total scam, the bad grammar and punctuation gave me my first "red flag" warning.

Got the same text as others. I called just in case to cancel. They told me I would have to download something to cancel. After I repeatedly pushed them to explain exactly what they wanted me to download, and with no good answer, I just hung up.

yes I got the same message it is a scam , it sound Indian guy an asked you to go to computer and type www.server and some number, do not call back to 877 399 1204 you may report this number to agencies

They are now using a different number.  877-308-5348 Its a scam
