A "Preston Harvey" called my daughter claiming I took out a pay day loan back in 2012 from a company called "global group holdings" I returned the call and he proceeded to tell me there "was" 2 civil complaints and 1 criminal complaint for fraud. When I told him I've never taken payday loans out in my life and I was reporting them and their number to police. I then hung up on him and he started calling me and my daughter back repeatedly leaving messages. His last message was trying to negotiate with me before he has to turn me over to the legal system. I've contacted the police and have filed harassment and fraud charges against them with the information I have on them

This company called and claims that I owe money from april 2013. they are determined to get you to pay over the phone. saying bank fraud, malicious something or other... i did use the company, but have paid it off. they continued to threaten. basically exactly what this woman above said is what happened with us. i said send me something in the mail or by email..says i only  have 2 days, it will cost me more . said you should have the email. he says it isn't on the paperwork he has. i said what is the phone number or address you have.?  he gave the correct info. i gave him a different email and am still expecting something. after i hung up , said i'm busy, send me something. then doesn't he call back and say he accidently erased the email. so i gave it again.  still waiting. supposedly i had till 6pm. this is ridiculous. they pray on people who don't understand and then give their acct numbers. WTF..!!!! grrrrr.....

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.

    Some Tips:
    *Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time, date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

Called me looking for my brother...said he had an application that was submitted to them and it was hard to read his writing and only number he could read was mine. Gave me the application # and the number 877-418-7359 to give to my brother. He asked me to give him my brothers number and I just said no. He said, "Why not?" I just told him I would pass the information on to my brother, he got a little "smart" and I just hung up. #OnlyIdiotsFallForThisCrap

Bob Stevens from United Process Service called me twice asking for Leto regarding bad checks and fraudulent payments.  I have been getting calls from different numbers for the past four years since I got this [***] prepaid phone asking for the same person.  This company is phony and using the name United Process Service which is the name of a legitimate business.  They used 877-428-7359 and reported case number 201619440.  Blocking numbers doesn't work.  I have used the FCC complaint service to report them and I have now gotten smart and gave them another telephone number to harass.  My enemies beware.

I just received the same call as every one on here but they called my job and left a voice mail.  Jessica Ryan called and said her client has charges against me and I or my lawyer need to contact them.  I'm not sure what company but it sounded like she said the office of Norton Recovery nothing comes up when I googled but for the security company for your PC's.  She even gave me a claim number.  Never said exactly what it was for loan, criminal anything.  I wish I could block it from work but .....NOT.  I know this is a scam the only people I owe r my utilities, cable, car loan, and cell.  Just the basics.  The phone number is:  877-418-7359.
