- ZachGot a call from the same number (at least thats the number the telemarketer gave me). A person by the name of Mary called from American Research Chemical claiming I would get a free NASCAR t-shirt and all I had to do was take a free trial of her degreaser. No account info was discussed, only mailing address. Reluctantly agreed, but now only want MSDS to review if this is a product that we want to use. Tried to call to cancel to save the hassle, but just got automated message; no company name, and was unable to leave message. Agreed...very shady.

- Michael K.| 1 replySCAM!!!!!
This time the free t-shirt offer was for an NFL team. Unfortunately a co-worker fell pray to this scam. We now have the cleaner & degreaser on our shipping dock. I have called them to tell them the individual that gave them authorization is not in the position to do so and we want to return the product. The woman I spoke with told me all returns must go thru their return department, took my number to have them call me. I will post what come out of this......- Caller: American Research Kemicals

- Jason G replies to Michael K.Received same type of call on 4/1/09. Telemarketer was named Niki. After agreeing to accept the 'free' degreaser, I did a quick search of the company and found these messages. I called the number back and told them to cancel the order. When I called back I talked with someone named Karla. She told me she would cancel the order.
- MJSA call followed up with Invoicing - SCAM.

- Martin BA lady called me and offered a promotional free cleaner and degreaser plus a T shirt from American Research Kemicals. She was talking and asking questions as we knew each other since Kindergarten. She also asked for a PO which I did not give her. She said she would just write "verbal PO" for the shipping company on the documents. She gave me 877 422 4860 to call back. I red these comments here and she called again today. I told her to stop any shipments and delete me from the phone list. She just said OK and hung up.

- Not StupidI received the same call today. She's telling me that she is trying to win a contest to they Bahamas. She said she will e-mail a picture of her self in a bikini to me. She already knew my home address??? She wanted a PO#. but I did not give her one. She said try her product for free on a verbal agreement. This is very shady. I then said to cancel and she said have a great day and hung up.

- Newly hiredI recieved the same call. Being new to the company she sounded like she has done business with us before. She even knew the name of the person who did my job before. When I asked him about American Research Kemicals he saidhe never recieved anything from them. I called and cancelled the order and told the young lady I could not find any information about the cleaning product or the company on the internet. She replied our website is under construction.

- LoooooooosersThis Kemical (joke) company keeps finding someone each year to give free samples to in our company and of course we recevie a large shipment of crap at our dock and a invoice follows in a few days. We just tell them if they have no PO they get no payment. The calls come from Kemicals with threats for about 2 months, WE NEVER PAY. Oh yea there's the office supply scam, light bulb scam, and shipping supply scam.
To all the scam companies.... thanks for the free CRAP! LOL- Caller: American Research Kemicals

- Wow| 1 replyThese girls have it down pat, free t-shirts ,and pictures of them in bikini's who wouldn't want some degreaser. Got the call today and am in the process of trying to cancel the "free" sample. They wont get paid if they send it but I don't want to deal with the head ache. Glad I found all these responses online.

- ARK User replies to Harry| 1 replyMy boss bought 2 5 gallon pails of Heavy Duty Degreaser after "many" (my boss's words) calls from American Research Kemicals.
I didn't know anything about the sales tactics, product, or company, I just read the label, opened the pail, and spread some on our boiler room floor. I brushed it around a little and immediately hosed it off. The damn stuff really works very well! I was surprised, it is a very good cleaner!
We are a manufacturing plant and I am limiting the use of this stuff to mechanical areas such as the boilers, floors, compressors, etc.
I even tried it on the company truck which only gets washed once a year. It has rust stains from steam condensate spray and this degreaser worked with just a quick sray and a wipe. The ingredients may include a surfactant, its the only type of cleaner that has worked on the truck.I've used S-10 motorcyle cleaner which is also a surprisingly great "squirt on, rinse off" cleaner at $18/Pint.
I have no horse in this race, I'm just a user who didn't have to pay the bill or hear the phone messages. - Concerned Consumer replies to HarryBad News!!
Scam is a nice way to put the way they do business. "Free Trial Products" Followed by an invoice filled with small print. I surely learned a lesson from this company....always ask questions, and NEVER let anyone send anything you didn't ask for. If they do send you something, send it DIRECTLY back to them. They sell nothing more than water with a bit of [***] soap, then charge $850 for it. You guys are a great example of how NOT to do business. - Jeff replies to HarryCompany policy to refuse personal gifts, but tried the samples. Was sent three samples, said I liked one and asked where to send the rest back. Was only charged for what i wanted to keep and told to just use the rest of the other samples rather than send them back. As long as you reply within 30 days they have not charged me for the samples I kept and did not want. Overall I liked some of there other cleaners also. There products have worked out really well. Plus when they send you the wrong product they do not want you to send it back, just find someone who will use it and I did not get charged.
- Brian replies to HarryTook the call and took the product. They spelled out is wasn't a sample but was a trial that I would pay for if I liked it. Thought I had no downs. Used the stuff on my floors and trucks and have to say it worked great. Also every company banks included offer gifts when you sign up so I'm not so self riches to think it's an issue.
- BrianAnother bad story. One of our maintenance staff was convinced over the phone to order some of their product. When received it was not as advertised and he tried to call to get an RMA to send it back. Needless to say, he was unsuccessful in having anyone return his calls to get the RMA. Then the phone calls started to our A/P department demanding payment. Then they called me. We still had their material and I offered to send it back to the address that it was shipped from (on UPS documentation). Was advised that "they didn't use that warehouse anymore" and that she wouldn't give me an RMA because we had the product for too long. When you look at the address on Google Earth, it is an empty lot in Ft. Lauderdale. Beware.

- Probe replies to ARK UserThis company American Research Khemical also called me.They offer a free trial offer on their degreaser.Do not accept anything from them no matter what. They are a scam plain and simple,if you already accepted the offer send it right back. The customer service is very rude and unprofessional.Like some of these other people I was given a shirt and told a story, also the same as some of these other people. I wish I would have seen post before I accepted the offer.
