A message in my answering machine said to call 877-430-3307 within 48 hours, or an action will be taken against me. I called back, and told them that their call is being recorded. He said, "I have not given you a consent to record my call". Got into a verbal fight, and I cursed them out. I called Orlando Police Department, and got a confirmation that this is a scam.

this phone number 877-430-3307 is a scam and they talk very ugly to you and try to intimidate you into paying money. supposedly i was being sued by a company for a car i let go over 20 years ago.  they said  i had a bill for 30,000.00 but that i could settle for a thousand dollars. And if i took it to court it would be another 9,000.00.

They are a debt collection agency; i get what you guys are saying but that's honestly all it is. They  get you to call them so they can settle your actual debt that was sold to them, and they offer it at a lower price like it's not hard to comprehend. if you don't wanna pay you don';t have to but like if you yell they're gon yell back at you, its [***] disrespectful. like seriously peoople get together.

Well, then, if they are so legitimate - and the posts above, do in fact give details of illegal threats made - you won't have any problem posting the legal business name, street address - not a PO Box - and website, if any.

BTW - per federal debt collection law, callers MUST MAIL proof of debt and their right to collect said debt, within five days of their calls.  NO ONE should pay any caller who refuses to mail that proof.

    Interesting find on complaintwire.org:

    https://complaintwire.org/complaint/51-y_GFm5Q4/townsel-or-townsend-law-frim

They seem to go by various names - The Counsel Firm, The Cavalry Firm - and the address on their laughably bad website gives a Postal Annex maildrop.  None of those firms appears to be registered to do business in the state of California.

What I have on these crooks and what should be done:

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Both web sites use a privacy service to conceal their true location and identities.
BBB has the as The Calvary Firm, gives them a D- with 3 complaints and lists them as attorneys:  http://www.bbb.org/central-california-inland- ... eta-ca-89082688

Neither firm is registered in California as required by law to legally do business.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
List of State AG’s offices:  http://consumerfraudreporting.org/stateattorneygenerallist.php

As well as the California AG’s Office:   http://oag.ca.gov/

Since they claim to be attorneys, file a report here as well: http://www.calbar.ca.gov/Attorneys/LawyerRegulation/FilingaComplaint.aspx

Sorry but your bosses routinely violate Federal and State collection laws.  Yelling back at a debtor is not only unprofessional, but is also against the law.  We can tell you are another one of the illiterate, uneducated, scumbag shills these criminal enterprises send here to try to convince people that they should be allowed to steal money from them.

    Hi son,

Has the lack of a primary education prevented you from obtaining honest employment?  Lets see, you are semi-literate.  You have no concept of how a sentence is properly composed.  You have no understanding of the basics of grammar, and punctuation, let alone capitalization.  These are all the hallmarks of an uneducated shill.  Yes, we see plenty of them here, and your post is no different from any others.

(sniift, weep)  If only those mean old debtors would stop getting so angry at our bogus threats of process service we could offer such great deals on moldy debts which are legally dead. We pretend to sue, you pretend nothing is wrong. Like, it's not hard to comprehend! If we don' wanna obey the law, we don't have to, but like, ya know, if you're gon' sue us for reals we'll jus' hide like chicken ($&!#) cowards. Like, totally, pee-oooo-ple, put it together!

"If at thrice you can't succeed, get a job as a quivering coward working a 'phone for a bogus debt collector."
How are things in the boiler room son? Not going too well I hear. That's understandable. Your boss hires people like you. When the road gets rough, true genius shines through. Hire more idiots for less money & wonder why the plan doesn't work. Hmmm? It shoulda' worked...?
It didn't work because the only thing you can train a brick to do is sit. When people get smarter & the "help" stays as stupid as ever, the bottom line is predictable. Your boss is more broke than ever before. You're as broke as you ever were but that doesn't bother you. You're a scamming fraud & being worthless is as natural to you as walking with your head down looking for lost change is.
That's life in the fast lane son. Don't get hit by the traffic.
    Skeff Ett Liv!
     Gunnar
