- Fragger877-488-7730 called me at work claiming to be Bank of America. Joyce Brown was her "supposed" name. Asked if I was the person she was calling. I didn't answer her. I asked who she was and why she was calling me. She said she needed to verify who I was before she could answer. Will I give her my date of birth. I said, no. How about my address then? I told her that you guys send me a bill every month...you have my address. She said if you have concerns, call 877-488-7730. Someone else may answer.

- RoblesI received a call from a "Christian Canover" needing to discuss an important banking matter. I know better than to call the number reported or the caller ID back. I called BofA direct and reported it. They indicated to ignore the message and that there were no issues with my account. I have several accounts credit, savings, and debit. They checked all and all were fine. If it's a fraud alert they will email you and be able to see it. If you're past due on a payment on a credit card, they can see it. She said a collection agency may call on behalf of BofA, but she checked everything with my accounts and there was no reason for one to call if this even is a legitimate place. Bottom line, DO NOT give any personal information to anyone who calls you direct; this was what I was told by Bank of America! If you answer and someone claims to be with BofA, ask them to note your account and let them know you're calling the bank back directly from the number on the back of your debit card. Don't supply address, account #, or anything!

- Carol replies to RobSame funny call. My computer acting strange with FB issue. Clearly an error in my monthly statement, seemed a fake statement. A woman called said Bank of America. Rather aggressively demanding my address, gave a credit card number ending in mine . I asked her name, and a call back number. got this number. Several marketing calls just before her to my cell phone!
- S in FloridaSCAM! They called my work cell phone twice in one hour, asking me to return the phone call to 877-488-7730. Claimed to be Bank of America and gave all the same hours that they are available in EST. First time was a female, 2nd time was a male. They both left the exact same message (as if reading from a word track)... messaging basically saying it was very important that they speak with me and then listed my first, middle and last name. Said it was not a sales call and it was a very important service issue with my account that could benefit me. I called the real Bank of America and they confirmed it was not them, there are no issues with my account and also confirmed that they do not normally call customers unless there is concern of suspicious activity on your card that they want to verify is not fraud. She looked at the notes on my account and there were no notes indicating anyone from BOA had tried to call me.

- AdrianIt might help others. I also received a call from 800-536-1584 asking to call back at 877-488-7730 claiming it's Bank of America. I also googled and found this. One of the posters said it's legit so I decided to check my online account. Once went online I noticed that I had a past due account on a new account that I didn't know I didn't enroll in automatic payment. It might be a coincidence or it might indeed have been BOA. Safer thing for you is check your accounts online or call the number on the back of the card. If you don't have an account, you should probably go on the BOA website get the customer service number and confirm that no one has opened an account under your name.

- MasberryGot a call from a Texas number. The caller said there was an important issue with my credit card with last 4 digits XXXX, and asked that I provide my DOB to verify my identity. I didn't provide any info, but requested a call back number, and they provided this 7730 number. Contacted my bank fraud dept to see if they could confirm the validity of the call back number. They were not able to confirm that the 7730 number was for any of their departments and confirmed that I should not provide any personally identifying information to them.
