- NumbnutsScam of anthem bc/bs. May they get anally prodded by aids infected nigerians with foot long peters.
- Caller: Anthem scam
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Dan| 1 replyCalled them back, would not verify my info, required them to prove they knew who I was which they were able to do. It is an Anthem "sales" call to make me aware of the availability of a RN to consult as part of the corp health plan we have. Friendly call, no hard sales pitch. Bottom line, not spam - legit.
- Caller: Anthem
- Call type: Valid
- Dan replies to DanClarification - I meant to say that I refused to give them my personal info, which they understood, and they were able to give me proof they knew were Anthem and had my account info.
- Me replies to DMThey did the same to me. I was expecting a call from their website tech, no response.
- Nono Nonameleft voice message, claimed to be a registered nurse case manager with Anthem (employer medical insurance), asked to have spouse (used 1st name) call back. possibly legit
- Caller: Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- Call type: Unwanted
- TimThey called, knew within a minute it was a scam so I played with them, told them I was immortal, was not going to be sick or die forever, seemed to confuse them, they eventually hung up, hahaha

- PoeCalls about once a week, sometime from an 804 number. Not a number on back of my card, so don't answer (if it was, would still let it go to voicemail). Voicemail is always, "Hello, this is xxx with Anthem and I have a Registered Nurse Case Manager that would like to talk to xxx about a recent claim." No message on my Sydney app, so presume it's not really them. See (https://www.anthem.com/blog/member-news/suspi ... anthem-members/)

- AnonymousI just got a message from "Anthem". The woman leaving the message paused before saying "anthem" as if she were looking it up to see what she was supposed to say. For most of the message it sounded like she had a mouth full of marbles. Gave me a call back number and when I searched online for it the first result was an Anthem page warning about scams.
- J HickmanI read this website when they called me so I said pointedly to the nurse, "I have had BCBS for years, and I see online you all have been doing these calls for years, so what prompted the call to me now?" She said my recent visit to the ER and seeing new specialty doctors vs just my primary care.
They frame it like they want to tell you about all the great programs they have etc, but they are only trying to collect info to make denying claims easier for them. Absolutely predatory and ridiculous that they would do that. I told her I didn't have time and she said I can call back anytime.
Wildly enough, she started by asking about recent medications and asked if I had stomach issues - the medicine was a one-time prescription for a colonoscopy so I could tell immediately they weren't looking at my complete history and putting the puzzle together, they were just trying to find out what medical issues I might be having these days.
I would suggest not talking to these people.- Caller: BCBS

- pj| 1 replyI once dealt with them several years ago and I had to drive to a different hospital to get some imaging done in order to save money. This would normally seem like a great idea to keep costs down for everyone, except that I have to drive a long way... sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't... and then I have to remember where all I've had this done so I can get my imaging when I need it instead of having it redone because I can't remember the last place they found that was cheaper.
Of course you don't have to go there for your test but they do offer it as a service to help you find a cheaper place.- Caller: anthem bcbs

- Tygerkat replies to pjOops! You told us that story from "several years ago" but neglected to tell us what this caller wanted.
- TRN| 1 replyThere are several numbers internally that anthem uses to connect members to nurses that are part of their health benefits. The program is beneficial if you’re sick.
- Caller: Anthem BCBS
- Call type: Valid
- Tygerkat replies to TRNDo you often look up known phone numbers when there's no logical reason to do so?
- ArthurRobocaller. Here is the message left on my answering machine: "Hi. My name is Jacqueline. I'm a health plan representative calling with Anthem Personal Health. Hello? Can you hear me? Oh, yeah. No, this is message communication. Touch. I can't remember. No, I did do the intro communication. Let's close this. There's too many steps. It it should I even leave a note? This is too much stuff. No, it no. Answer it."
Going to chalk it up as a SCAM call.- Caller: Anthem Personal Health
