A girl's voice says to call her at 877-563-5739, or go to americollectpay.com. She doesn't give me a name, but is apparently a great employee, because she works from like 7:30 am - 11:00pm M-F and Saturdays and Sundays almost all day.

I just received a message from an out of area number not listed on my caller id  from Brooke I.D.#1949  With the same message as everyone else,  Never mentioned my name or what the debt was for but to return the call to 877-5 63-5739 or go online.   After looking this up and seeing all these responses, I will not be returning the call....(unless I'm bored)

Got the same message as everyone else: Hailey from Americollect. Called them back and they gave a doctors office that we have been working with about a debt. Irate hubby calls the dr’s office only to be told they don’t use Americollect and have never turned him into collections!!!  So apparently their scam is improving.

Same experience with the script as everyone else.  I don't want to call back, but on the other hand the chicks sounds pretty hot... might be worth admitting to a fake $95 that I owe someone.

No name provided, either theirs or mine, nor any information about what debt they were collecting on. Asked to call 866 862 8289 but caller ID showed 406 302 5181. Also said I could chat them on the website, nearly identical to what others have posted here. I don't have an outstanding debt, so these are probably scammers like you all say.

I Too, Received the Same 'Non-Customer Service Requesting' Me to Call them back at 877-563-5739.  NO DETAILS, Etc., Etc., Etc.  I  Have NO Moral OBLIGATION to Call them Back as I HAVE LEARNED To Protect My OWN Personal Time as well.  The Last Time I Called someone Back Where I did Not Know WHY they Were Calling It Turned-Out to BE SOME SORT OF AN AUTOMATED HOUSE PHONE SCAM (Robo-Call???) Verifier that IMMEDIATELY Hung-UP on ME Because It NOW Realized a Real (Live, Warm-Blooded) Person Was NOW  AT MY Phone Number SO Some Un-Scrupulous PERSON or BUSINEES Was Wanting to WASTE My TIME and Rip-Me-OFF!!!  MY ADVICE HINT To THEM is "the Next Time I Need a Service Or a Product ----  I ------- WILL CALL YOU!!!!!!!!"  Amen!  Done!  Fine'!

got a call from a lady named Casey ID #1919   who didn't ask for the name of anyone specific, and that they are Bill Collector and to call her back if they had the wrong person.  But they did not ask for a specific person.  But the caller ID came up as 609-301-4360 americacolletpay.com    I don't really know if this is real or a scam.  All of the things don't add up!!!

I also received a message almost verbatim. " Hey, this is Casey from Americollect, collector ID 1919, this is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. You can reach me at 877-563-5739 or you can chat with me online at Americollectpay.com. I'm in the office Monday through Friday 7am until 11pm and Saturday from 8am until 5pm. Again, my name is Casey at Collector with me or collect at 877-563-5739. If I have the wrong number, please feel free to give me a call, let me know. Thanks and have a great day."

Yes! I am been getting this exact message from Casey for almost a year a now. She calls at least every few days. One day it was every 40ish minutes for like 6 hours. The incoming phone number is often different and from different states. I’ve never answered because I don’t have any debt that would be turned over to a collection agency. If my phone rings I pretty much always think, oh must be Casey from Americollect.

You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Everything else you need to know follows including at least two or more federal and state agencies where you should report their criminal activities.

After I went to their web site, it took me awhile to stop laughing, since their motto is “Ridiculously nice collections for 50 years”:   http://www.americollect.com/

BBB gives them an am accredited A- (down from an A+) with 123 complaints and 15 negative reviews and one very lame positive review (They paid the BBB to remove 4 negative reviews) as of 11/24/20:  http://www.bbb.org/wisconsin/business-reviews ... owoc-wi-7001006

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file complaints with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

Also file a complaint at the Wisconsin Dept. of Financial Institutions Complaint page: https://www.wdfi.org/contact_us/ComplaintDefault.htm
