Someone named Kayla Moore called me, my brother and my parents saying she was a compliance officer and I have unpaid debt. She has threatened me and my family to take me to court and that I will face prison time unless I settle with her within 24 hours (or 48 hours, or 3 hours depending on who she was speaking with). I’m completely convinced this is a scam because 1) most importantly I don’t have bad debt 2) she doesn’t identify who she is working for and 3) the things she says and does are things no legal debt collection company would do!

Nicole (couldn’t make out the last name) called and quickly read out a claim number and said I was being served for delinquent bills.  She refused to give any details and wouldn’t identify what company she was calling from.  The more she talked the more aggressive she became and started to use made up legal terms like “civil debt violation act” and threatened that she would call my family, friends, and employer if I didn’t agree to a $5,000 settlement.  I just told her to “go ahead and serve me because I know this was a scam”.  She said “I hope God has mercy on you!” and then hung up.  It was a very strange call….
