- 2manycallsI just got a call from this #, google says it's Microsoft, so I figure it's some "you've got a virus, let me connect to your computer" scam spoofing the number...as always, I don't know 'em, I don't answer.
- BPaul Heiman from Windows Technical Department saying my PC has alerted them that someone is trying to hack into it. Scammer.
- SanYep they are at it again obviously. I answered and when the foreign guy said hello twice I started in as if I was an answering machine. Needless to say he hung up pretty quick.

- Mary BrowerTried to have me type Windows button and letter R saying someone was hacking my computer. I hung up after calling and reading blogs.

- KenGot a call from this number saying he was from the Microsoft Technical Department. I pressed him for a company ID and he said it was BR8012 but he works for Dell. I asked if he was from Microsoft or Dell he said he worked for an independent contractor for Dell and he is a Microsoft Technician. Same scam - wants to look at event viewer and go over all of the errors and warnings and he would connect up to my computer to remove the virus for a fee.

- Staple of community| 3 repliesThey called me while I was at my local geek shop. My computer was literally in a dozen pieces laid out across the shop table. This guy named "Kevin" (with a heavy accent) said," This is Microsoft Tech Support. I am calling in regards to an error message broadcast from your home computer". I already knew right away what this phone call was, and was even better because a call from a guy from India by the name of Kevin.
So I started messing with "Kev" right away. First telling him what he wanted to hear, that I DID type everything he told me to (not really) and repeatedly asking him is he got it yet, over and over again. I started to get bored so I changed it up, so then I started asking him inappropriate questions. I started with," Have you ever tried putting curry on pancakes"? If he was married? If so what is his husband's name? And can he put his husband on the phone so I could talk to him also. That last one got him pretty rattled. So I kept up with the relationship angle. Next I asked him ," Are you naked right now" yes or no? Then asked ,"If he would mind if I got naked while talking to him. The whole while he's trying to stick to his script and talk through this phone call. "Kevin" finally hung up when I was making spanking noises in the background, while TELLING HIM OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO MAKE ANIMAL NOISES!!!!!!
I just figured that if this dude is going to try and steal something from me. Then I'm going to have fun with it , either with his cooperation or at his expense.- Caller: Microsoft
- LOLOur interaction started with an email back and forth. I immediately called them out. Said they were from MS Office 365 support. I hopped on Microsoft's website, gave them the email address that contacted us and the contents of the email and they confirmed it was a phishing attempt. I replied back and professionally told them to f*ck off. Then "she" tried to come back and say that she's a "support ambassador" which even the Microsoft tech I was speaking to got a chuckle out of that one...said there's no such thing. The "lady" fired back a third time and basically said if I don't believe her I can call 877-696-7786 and give them the support ticket number that she gave me (which doesn't match MS's support ticket number format, mind you).
So I immediate check this site and found this listing.
Replied back with a link to this page and screenshots from my chat with MS.
Surprisingly haven't heard back from her since.- Caller: Scam
