- DJOSomeone called me from 877-719-4440 looking for somebody named Eric (I don't recall the last name) and they were calling my small business number to verify if this person worked for me.
It was a very polite man, and when I told him that no one by that name worked for me and I've never heard of anyone by that name before, he very politely said "OK, thank you" and hung up. I will be blocking this number and never taking a call from it again.

Making a good salary and bonus off the misery of those in obvious dire financial straights and gloating about it is the lowest form of scumbaggery imaginable. No doubt you would steal the pennies off a dead mans eyes.
Virtually everyone working to survive in this current and prevailing economic climate is one paycheck away from disaster, both personal and public. It would do well for you to remember that my scumbag friend.
Many would hope you will never have to suffer the humiliation of having stacks of bills with no money or income, I on the other hand hope you do experience this dilemma first hand, for a long, long time.- Caller: ?
- ThatGuy replies to austinThe 1-877-719-4440 phone belongs to the Windham Professionals, Inc. in East Aurora, P.O. Box 400, NY 14052. This company is a debt collections agency looking to collect on defaulted student loans. Beware! Now you know. Pass it on!
- NancyWindham Professionals called me at my job in a call center! How did they find me? I do not list that info and they acted like a customer to get another rep to take their info down for me to call them! When I called trying to help a customer, found out they asked for my whole name which I never give customers then told me to hold while they looked for the paperwork. The only reason I did was because our calls are monitored and then find out it is about a personal matter. I didn't wait, just said to never call me there and Hung up on them. I kept the number and extension and am going to report it to the FCC. Could have gotten me fired!!!! Stupid a..holes!

- kaydubb| 2 repliesYou Looses need to man up and take care of your obligations. If you owe the government for a defaulted student loan you need to pay voluntarily or you will be forced to pay involuntarily. that is the bottom line. You can pile on with the insults about career collectors all you want, That isnt going to stop the Dept of ED from garnishing you wages or offsetting your tax return. I hope it make you feel better.
- Texas girl! replies to TheAsweruhm - you are incorrect! I've never had a student loan in my entire life - nor do I owe them any money and they are calling me!
- DIt pains me to say it that hey are a "legit' debt company. They mostly do student loans..I do owe money and received a letter in the mail. They say checks may be made out to the US Dept of Education. They may act "shady" and call neighbors and work but the US DEPT of Education lists them as one of the companies they use to collect defaulted student loans.

- CeeCee replies to youpeople| 1 replyshut up...LORD forbid you find yourself on hard times one day
- CeeCee replies to kaydubbI hope you never fall on hard times....it's not about "manning up", for some the education wasn't worth the paper the diploma was printed on due to the economy. if it came down to paying a doggone loan or eating...hmmmm..not difficult to decide, so you and your arrogant and judgmental attitude need to take a flying leap....
- Brooke L replies to youpeopleThank you for the contact information via the link. It was very helpful regardless of the rest of the implications in your message.
- KellyWyndham Professionals called me about my student loans. I had defaulted on them. I am a single parent who is owed over 34k in back child support. When I told the person that called me, they were very understanding and willing to work with me. They set me up on a payment plan based off my income, and I will be out of default by the end of the year!!
There comes a point In life where you just have to realize you need to pay your debts to get anywhere.
I don't like to be harassed by collection agencies either. But I learned that most of them are willing to work with you and take payments you can afford! - g replies to youpeopleyou r an [***]

- OperatorBCaller asked for a temp agency employee who no longer works at this location. Smelled collector a mile away. I informed the caller that they do not work here, and were employed through an agency, thus did not work directly for the company. They asked to speak to Human Resources. I repeated several times that the person never worked for this company, they worked through an agency. The caller said I was giving "false information". Calling me a liar does not elicit compliance with demands that go against policy.
