Guy claimed to be with Pepco and said power would be cut off for not paying the bill. Then gave the 877 737 2662 number to call and to use option #1. I didn't do it. I knew I'd paid Pepco, and went to my bill receipt and called the Customer Service number--which was different from the 877 number the guy provided. This is clearly a scam using a spoofed Pepco number.

Called my landline on 7/2/2019 and CID displayed Pepco 877-737-2662 and no VM was left. Since no message was left, the call wasn't important. I already know this isn't the correct number for Pepco . Just another scammer trying to rip people off.

I, too, received a call from this scammer. I payed online and received  confirmation of my payment days ago.  I called Customer Service and was informed that PEPCO received many complaints about this predictor that seem to be targeting older people.

Pepco saying my bill was overdue and they were going to shut off the power unless I called another 800 number. I stopped paying attention because it’s not even my electric company

This Caller ID says PEPCO, this man asks to speak to the Business owner or the person who handles the Electrical/Maintenance bills. And then said this business address is on a list for being late on payment. I told him the business owner is not here or in the state. So he asked me to take his # message. Then I told him that We've gotten fake calls before and to go ahead and give me the # so we can verify that it isn't FAKE. Then the man HUNG UP ON ME. He hung up because he was Busted and Guilty of being fraudulent call. And I hope they get busted because they are using a Legit company's name to mislead and steal from businesses and individuals.

Got the same call. But that area code was blocked.My Panosonic phone blocks numbers and area codes. Have already blocked over 200 area codes. I rarely have calls coming through.😁

Received a call this morning claiming to be from Pepco.  A man with a spanish accent told me he was a technician from Pepco and would be coming to my home to shut off the power in 45 min.  I needed to call a number he gave me to make arrangements to pay my bill.  I knew this was a fraudulent call because my bills were all paid.  I told him what he could do with his call.  With great concern he insisted he was a Pepco tech and would be here in 45 min.  He even knew my name.  I simply  hung up on him.  I did check my Pepco account to be sure the last payment was logged which it was and I actually have a credit.

Caller spoofs PEPCO's legitimate phone number saying they are from "Pepco's Disconnection Department" wanting immediate payment on non-existent overdue bill. Caller's overseas accent is subtle, but still there.  Nice attempt to use an old scam by a sophisticated criminal group.

Potomac Edison Power Company IS PEPCO.  Still a scam but PEPCO is just their acronym.

It’s Spam regarding PEPCO.  Already spoke to PEPCO. They don’t call via an automated call regarding past due or turning off power.  Plus they can’t be calling about it right now with restrictions in place regarding past due and shutoff.  Just play dumb or act like they called a pizza place.  Ask for toppings and delivery address. They will stop calling!

got a call from this number supposedly from pepco (my cell phone is a 202 area code) about a late payment. i moved years ago from dc and pepco does not supply electricity in NC.

This number pops up as Pepco on caller ID but encourages you to switch energy providers.  We are averaging 5 calls per day.

Every day at 1pm and 6:30 pm fo about 5 weeks, I get a Robocall from this number with the identifier, PEPCO.  I have no PEPCO account, so its got to be a scam spoofed call.  Report them and do not answer the call.

I am having some issues with PEPCO related to meter reading, so when an internet search indicated that it was a PEPCO number I called it (I didn't answer the original call or hit "reply"). I got through to an actual person at PEPCO who said that the caller was spoofing the PEPCO number because they would never have tried to reach me using that number. I've gotten at least one additional call from the same number since this first call, but the caller never leaves a message.

Fake PEPCO call. Left a computer generated voicemail telling me to "Please write it down the following number. 877-518-7966". So even its voicemail doesn't speak proper English!

I just received a phone call from Jason Smith claiming that he's calling on behalf of Pepco talking about sending me a $50 rebate and also taking 30% off my Pepco bill.   It took him along time to give me the number that he's calling me from since my phone said Potential Spam. I will be calling Pepco to see if it is legit in which I doubt it. He was asking me for my Pepco account number I said I wasn't at home so I asked him for the number where I can reach him. Now Kevin just called me and gave me another number 866-353-5798. I believe he said Energy Wise.

Got a call with this num from PEPCO saying they can't complete my acct set up without my SSN. I look up the number and it's PEPCO's customer service number. Later when the power was shut off at my new place, I call and am told my acct was never completed.

Not sure if that was a legit call, but if this happened again, I'd hang up and call the number myself to complete the account to be sure it's not a spoofed number.
