07-14-09:  Called again!!! There is never a message left and as I do
not recognize the phone number, I do not answer; however, one time I
did answer and there was no one there.  This is harrassment plain and
simple.  How do you get it to stop, as I am already signed up for
denial of my number for these type of calls.

I receive daily calls from 800 service numbers and they typically ask for someone who does not live at my residence.  I have asked numberous times to be removed from their list, however, continue to receive calls.

they call and hang up never leave a message

Tells you it's a courtsey call for the person they are calling for and hangs up when you tell them the person is not there and you ask who's calling and if they want to leave a message. If you try to call the number back, it rings one time and then cuts off.

Have had calls before from this number.  Caller ID simply shows Out of Area, plus the number.  A call back confirmed it was Wells Fargo, and they give you an automated procedure to get taken off the caller list.  Time will tell.  I have a mortgage with these people, so it would appear this gives them the chance to pitch their products via telemarketing to existing customers.

If you call them back, it tells them that you recently were called about a promotion from Wells Fargo.  It also gives you a way to opt-out of future calls; I tried it and we'll see if it works.

If you are a customer of Wells Fargo (any kind of account: checking, savings, credit card, mortgage, IRA, etc.), the national "Do Not Call" list does not apply.

I also called 1-888-528-8460 (Wells Fargo's Privacy Line) and asked them to opt-out of calls and sharing of my phone number on all of my accounts.

I checked on-line to see if they had a way to do it on-line, but didn't really see an option (nor a way to e-mail it with the right subject) and so I called 1-888-528-8460 (as mentioned in your e-mail and on the Wells Fargo web site) and asked them to stop calling and stop sharing my number.  They removed me from the promotions list, but also told me that I currently was only shared within the bank (I guess that means the call I got was an internal promotion rather than partner promotion).

You can call the bank directly (see number under "YOU HAVE CHOICES AT WELLS FARGO" in the below links) and opt-out.  (They will ask for the last four of your social, but since you called them with a published number, it should be OK.)

I am on national do not call list!! Stop calling

I called the number back and followed the prompt to not be called again, but they are still calling over a month later. The message says to press 1 if you are not interested in THIS promotion, so every time they have a new promotion you apparently get back on their call list. Had no idea how many junk phone calls we were getting until signing up for caller ID.

Never-EVER leaves messages! I just blocked their number.
