- HollyI received a call from Lauren Taylor at my place of work. I have no idea what this is for.... or how they got my work number. I called the number that was left on my voicemail and it said "corporate office" They said something about me being service and getting legal council.... very threatening... but i have no idea what this is for.. and don't plan on having any contact with this company. It really sounds suspect... ...... I have no bills that I know of that this could even be for.. have received no notices... ??????? Very strange....The call comes in as "unknown"
- Rocketride78 replies to Anthony WilliamsAccording to the Oklahoma state attorney generals office, your full of [***]. everything about your procedures, address, and all your NAMES are bogus..Oh yeah I have reported you. good luck with your scam job..!
- Christy| 1 replyI continue to get a call from them. I have asked to have my number removed ten times now. The person they are trying to reach is not at my number and had not been at this number for over 3 years. I have been left unprofessional voicemails and half the time they don't even leave a name of who they are calling for. They also call from different numbers (or so that is there excuse) on why I haven't been removed properly. I think every time they sell the debt to a new collection company that company calls me for someone that used to have this number. Oh and when you do call your so called business they refused to tell me the name all the would say was corporate offices. I filled out there survey and filed a complaint with the FTC. Next step attorney. Done with being harassed on collections that aren't even mine!!!!
- Call type: Debt collector
- Tamianth replies to ChristyChristy, please see Shillkills post on page one and also Concerned Citizens above. This is a extortion scam operation, and your best bet is a call blocker. Though I would ask, have they given you a name? If so, please post back with any info.
- CWOJohnSo I went to the website: http://kepler.sos.ca.gov Mr. Willians provided above to verify Westfield Portfolio Management, Inc. with the State of California. No that it matters since I knew it was a scam anyway.
Interesting though that the status of this business is now listed as:
FTB Suspended or FTB Forfeited: The business entity was suspended or forfeited by the Franchise Tax Board for failure to meet tax requirements (e.g., failure to file a return, pay taxes, penalties, interest).
May be you or your representing counsel should call the California Attorney General's office.- Caller: Rebe Brooks (did not mention company)
- lawnmo| 3 repliesThe 1st call from this number was from Ms. Brooks. The call came at 5:37 pm. I still have the message on my answering machine. Of course I called the next morning and extension 502 was not available--leave a message so I did. Again this morning I called and same message. Despite post from Anthony Williams I do not feel this is a legitimate
company and will ignore all calls. Hope you will do the same!!!- Caller: gave no name
- Casey replies to lawnmo| 2 repliesExactly what happened to me!!!!! I called the number and a female answered saying corporate office. She automatically asked me my name. I said I would first like to know who and what this pertains too since they called me. She was gettin rude and said we handle all types of businesses and I need ur name so I know who who to direct you to. So I told her I wasn't giving my name beens that they called me first unless she told me who she was and what company she was with. I then interupted her during her last sentence and said what are you a debt collector and she hung up!!!!! Its a scam!! I don't know any LEGITIMATE business that would do that!too
- Alfalfa replies to CaseyThe Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
•is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
•refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
•asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
•exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
•Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.
•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
•Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
•Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

- RLTWGot a call yesterday and today from Ribbi Brooks. Funny thing is that yesterday's Ribbi Brooks had an Indian accent and today's had a southern accent, how many work there with the same name?
- Tired of the callsI know it is a scam because I have paid off everything on my credit report and just recently bought a house. I had some history of things being sent to collections, but everything has been paid. So, i know that I do not owe anything to anyone...I have answered and they threatened me about coming to my work and or my home to serve me. I tell them now if I am in the mood to answer please show up....You have been calling me for the past year and no one has ever done anything and it doesnt affect my credit report. I am not sure how to get it to stop since i have blocked numbers and then they call me on different phone numbers. They also ask for my name and my maiden name which I have been married over 5 years. Aggggghhhh!
- Caller: Not sure
- Call type: Debt collector
- lrkentakI've filed complaints three times on the donotcall registry and have asked them to stop calling me. They are calling my cell phone, which I have indicated is against the law. Also, they are trying to collect on some payday loans that were included in my bankruptcy over 4 years ago. When I tell them that I would like them to call my lawyer and discuss it with them (which I have had to do now with 4 different companies) they hang up on me.
Nice reputable business you are running there.- Caller: "WPM"

- AnonymousReceived a call from this company today. They asked that I, or my legal rep call them. I called them and they said they were with Westfield Management. I called them back, and they said "how can we help you". I told them I received a call from their number, but had no and that the person said I needed to call back or have my attorney call. I said I had no idea who they were and why they would be calling me. They put me on hold to try to look up my info by my phone number. Based on my phone number, the couldn't find any record. After that, they asked for my name. One again, they put me on hold for a while. A different person got on the phone (I think his name was "Mr. Banks".). He asked "how can we help you"? Once again, I told him why I was calling back. He said they handle civil cases and that they needed to verify some information (each time they said this I was waiting for them to ask me questions, but they kept putting off and rattling off some statue or law...something about my information and third parties. Finally, they asked if I was "xxxxxx y zzzzzzz". I said I did not have that middle initial. Then they asked about an address and birthdate. The birthdate and address were no match at all. They said ok..."we will update our records, but if you still get served papers", then...don't remember what he said, because I had already figured out this was some sort of scam, and thought based on the address and birthdate being completely different from mine, that I had nothing to worry about, but it is a little scary how close the name was, though. Could they have been gathering information on me somehow, just from being on the phone with them, even though I didn't share any info other than my name/phone number?
