A lot of people think because a chimney is made of brick and mortar that it is indestructable.
However that isn't the case, standing in the elements for years and years is bad enough.
Some vent oil which is very damaging to the inside of the chimney on its own some are even venting oil and gas which basically creates sulfer that rotts the chimney from the inside out very quickly especially if not properly insulated. . . . . I could go on for two days explaining why chimneys need regular maintenance so don't believe anyone that says chimneys don't.  Fireplaces catch fire more times than a lot of people know and when built correctly they'll handle it but maybe not and maybe not twice because the inside is only terra cotta, the freeze thaw factor alone does damage over time not to mention the extreme heat/ cold fluctations experienced but by far the most damaging is when oil and let's say a gas hot water heater are both connected to one flue, sometimes you get a bad seed and that can happen with any company sooner or later they will be exposed for who they really are, a good company should stand behind their work no matter what, the customer pays them a lot of money and should not have to fight to get the job done right,if you have a bad employee or two get rid of them and hire me,I always make sure the customer is happy and understand everything that is going on with the chimney/ heating appliances and. there is enough legitimate work that guys don't need to make stuff up,thank you for listening and if you should have a question regarding the chimney feel free to shoot me an Email @ AnthonySaponaro20@gmail.com and I will do my best to help you anytime . . . .

These guys are crooks as many above have said.  They promised a $30 cleaning and pushed for a SS insert. They did not have the right tools for the job and destroyed my flue tials as they tried to use a large breaker bar to remove some cement in the bottom of the flue to allow them to fit the bottom of the SS liner. They also promised documents certifying the work and the cleaning but conveniently ran out on the truck.  For a total of six calls to the number they kept promidising that the documents were in the mail or about to be sent, but 3 months later, no documents.  How can we shut these people down ?

You are so right, they got me for a $1000 for a line and now squirrels are building nests in it and I keep calling and getting false promises of repair from Sean, but I will do whatever is necessary to make these crooks pay.

PERFECT TOUCH MAINTENANCE sends their chimney managers and laborors out to work in PA.  However, the vans come from Long Island and they are uninspected and unregistered.  Also, Lenny, the owner doesn't even pay his workers....what does that tell you?

My mother just got one of these calls.  $30 to clean the chimney.  Told her they have been in business for 25 years.  They would be in the area.  They even told her they could see she had her chimney cleaned in 2009.  That was not true.  Thank goodness, even though she initially said yes, I was able to call them and cancel.  They actually answered the phone, I didn't expect that.  Please be careful when getting these kind of calls.

Got scammed myself by these thieves in the Downigtown PA area.  The offered to clean chimeny for $40 then said our chimney needed major repairs including mortar work.  I wasn't home but I gave them the go-ahead to do the work.  All they did was shove a grossly undersized flue down the chimney and stuffed fiberglass between the chimney and the bottom of the flue.  Two inspectors agreed this was unacceptable so i have a certified himney sweep company do an inspection.  Their conclusions:  shoddiest work they ever saw; flue too small to draw and no refractory material at the bottom of the flue; way overcharged me at $4,000.  Their physical address is a fake, as confirmed by the Realtor at 5020 Sunrise Highway in Massapequa, NY.  All the posters saying good things about this company are liars and probably work for them.  The guy who did the work called himself Mike Connors.  The guys who answer the phones call themselves Sam and Sean McNulty, another guy goes by the name of Alex.  Alex claims Sam is the owner so I asked for a return call.  Never got it.  This time, they messed with the wrong guy.   I'm making it my personal mission to get my money back and/or shut down their scam.

Appears Perfect Touch likes to target older people.  Not sure what a NY company is doing soliciting door to door in southern Pennsylvania in a town that door to door is illegal but they hit my mother up who has obvious Alzheimer's.  They conned her out of a credit card number but never had any signatures on any contracts to perform the work.  They told her that she should have a new chimney liner installed to protect her home.  Last time I was home it looks like they did install a chimney liner for $1600 however it wasn't really needed.  After stopping the payment on the credit card they did contact me and I told them I wanted the contracts and the guarantee paperwork.  As suspected none of it was fully filled out.  In addition Perfect Trouch Maintenance does not have an address on their invoices nor do they show their address on their web site.  I see that the BBB has rated them with an F.  I will probably send a payment once I can clearly identify where the company is physically located.  However in any case I am filing a complaint with the NY attourney general.  I'm not sure if they have broken any specific laws however any company who operates this way, should either be forced to clean up the way they do business or be put out of business.

I have had good luck with chimney companies in the past. Chimneys do need to be maintained but don't trust these guys. My chimney did need to be relined two years ago. The company that preformed the work showed me video as the camera decended my chimney as well as obvious damaged to my original clay liner. These gentlemen preformed the work at a reasonable price and never did I feel pressured. Wanting to maintain my new system I accepted and appointment from PTM to inspect and clean my chimeny for $40. After a very breif inspection I was informed that the liner installed in my chimney was done incorrectly, was the wrong size and that it had to be removed and relined. Not only was the price to reline excessive but I was informed I had to pay for the removal of the old liner. I decided to get a second opinion and had my system inspected. The original liner was installed perfectly, it met every code was the right size and that what ptm was doing was committing fraud. I understand the owner is named Lenny, who himself has robbed customers, mostly the ederlly, by claiming he lined chimneys he didn't. In fact the hoodlums he works with joke about "lenny Liners" a freference to fraudulently claiming work done that never was. He is the main culprit and it is him authorities should pursue

They called today.  I've been thinking I need the chimney cleaned so for $40, I said ok.  I was on the landline with no caller ID.  Something itched at me - maybe how remarkably available they were to come over within 2 hours - so I looked at another phone with caller ID.  It was a Private Number.  Crap.  I couldn't even call back to cancel. Hubby was on his way and arrived right after them, thank goodness.  I didn't feel comfortable alone especially when I saw the NY plates on the van and realized that I had made a huge mistake.  I'm in PA. I am an educated woman in my 40's and generally have good common sense/street smarts.  They got me on a weak day.  They jumped around on the roof and vacuumed out the hearth.  Hubby gave $40 cash and sent them packing.  But first they tried to get $350 to repair the cracked chimney.  Hubby said no thanks.  I know if I had remained alone the repair estimate would've been much higher.  But my suspicions were already high and they wouldn't have gotten more than the agreed upon $40.  Lesson learned.  Just say no.

    Another con attempt
They told my mom they'd clean her chimney for $59, then gave her a bill for $1150 - half an hour later.  Told her is she paid cash they would cut the price then and there.  Fortunately, she had no cash and paid them nothing.  I reported them to the police.

It's obvious that PTM is putting up positive reviews under names of people claiming to be customers. Why would anyone who was satisfied with the work done on their chimney look the company up on this site? Nice try!! While you're at it, how much were you selling the Brooklyn Bridge for again?

These [***] conned my 71 year old mother into getting her chimney swept. They then went on the roof and proceeded to kick holes in it.  They threatened my mother. I gave them a 20 to go away. They keep calling -- and now are using the name Ouch Maintenance and PT Touch Maintenance. I went to the police after they left. They called back last night and said they were coming back because they left something of theirs on our property.  If they dare come back, I'll have a BIG surprise for them.

    Funny Story
Complete Scam and the person(s) stating that the company is legit and conducts great service is the same individual. Idiot your typing is just the same "two weeks ago to my home...couple weeks ago to my home." The company name is not a member of the BBB and is attached to multiple scams on the EastCoast. The 1-877-786-4611 is actually now routed to a call room located in Utah where they seem to be way behind times with no internet access/computers, email, fax, or direct line call in. Please do not fall for any business or company scheme, use referrals or local businesses that you see everyday. Cheaper is not always better and will usually cost you much more in the long run; ie. pride and security!
