Received a call from a man named Peter from SFG & Assoc. on my message machine, stating the same thing about a check I wrote.  I write very few checks and they would not have a problem clearing.  I will not call this person back.  I think it is a scam or someone fishing..for information.

I too received a call from a Peter with SFG & Associates stating that I had written a check and they wanted me to call regarding it.  I called the number from my cell and the person wanted my home number to referrence.  I said no, just let me talk to Peter.  She said "I am not going to let you talk to Peter unless you give me your number".  I hung up.  It sure seems like they are trying to get peoples account numbers or some private info.

I just hung up on this dude. There trying get personal information. I goggled and saw I was not the only one.

I too received an odd message from a guy named Peter today at about 4:30pm, I would almost certainly classify this as something fraudulant. I certainly will not be returning his call.

Its a payday loan company attempting to collect a loan that was taken out by me-they threaten to use the information that you listed as employment to collect through your employer-Supposedly they are connected with a network of attornies that will help make this happen. I told the lady that I'm in no position to pay it pack and I would simply call them back whenever I'm able to pay them.

This is a debt collector...or so they try to be.

Spoke with a "Ruben" of FRONTIER FINANCIAL GROUP (FFG) (301-637-4205, 1-877-787-5582, 702-933-8861). I told him that since I had borrowed the Pay Day loan money (and fell on hard times) that I would have no problem paying them back in installments. I did ask for him to send me something to verify that they were legit and he told me that he would email me something. I gave him my email address and he told me that he would "get his assistant to send me something" because he doesn't do that and that he "delegates tasks" for others to do.

After I gave him my email, no paperwork was sent and he told me that my account was sent to NCRS (1-866-808-1188). I asked him why when I agreed to pay back my debt if he could just verify that this was a legitimate company. He told me it was a "business decision" and hung up on me.

Now my account is with NCRS and I have no idea what to do. I will not call them if they are going to threaten me or "sue" me.

These people are scamming people right and left...Stay away from them, don't call them back.  If they say they are going to throw you in jail or have the cops pick you up tell them you are at the police station and to come get you.  Better yet, just hang up.  DON'T give them any information, you can also have the phone company block their number.  They are reading this post so I won't give you all the secrets to get rid of these people but they will rott in hell some day.

the same thing just happened to me and I too asked for proof of who they are....I told them the same thing... I do not give my personal information over the phone to just anyone.  They must be nuts.  I will call the creditor myself and make arrangements with them.  These people must know that everyone is not stupid and people have been caught in identity theft and other things so much now that I wish I would give them access to my bank account.  My attorney told me not to unless you can verify they are legit and I cant so I wont.

the call from Frontier Financial 877-787-5582 is unverifiable so I would not give them anything...they dont have a website or anything.  Who are they, where are they?  I would just call your creditor and work directly through them.

As for Frontier Financial....I would call 702-586-4444 because that number is listed on the State of NV website.  You can also contact the Nevada Dept of Business and Industry to verify or file a complaint.

Got a message on my voicemail at work today from a "Ruben" of FRONTIER FINANCIAL GROUP (FFG) (1-877-787-5582, ext 213).  So I just called the number back when I got home and didn't even have to put in r ask for an extension, actually got "Ruben" on the phone.  He hit me with the same story, threaten to use the information that they have listed as employment (but didn't remember what number they used to originally call me) to garnish my wages.  Also told me they were retained by a network of attorneys but couldn't give me the name of the law firm, etc.  When I repeatedly tried to get verifiable information from him without giving him any of mine, well of course he got hostile and told me he was taking my non-repsponses as a "NO' and would proceed.  I told him to go ahead and he hung up on me.

It really is a shame, I get these calls at least once a month from all sorts of different numbers and people with various names, accents and companies.  I guess they have to keep trying to keep their scams up.

Yes, I got the exactly the same message.  I don't write check that often as well and I know I did not write a check to the "company" he was calling from called SSG and Associates.  How annyoing!!

I received the call today, I called back, it just rang and rang. The collection company that my work uses has an answering machine. I am a little suspicious of this company. Oh by the way, I've not written any checks lately, only called to see what was going to be said.
I hope time catches up with them.

Received call from someone named Peter with a verifiable number of 925-230-2030 stating Peggy Rose (which is not my name) needed to call back to verify information for security purposes. I think this is someone fishing for information.  Not gonna happen with me. Wanted me to call back 877-787-5582..also not gonna happen.

I too got a message requesting a call back to verify information on a check for security purposes from "Peter".  Very unusual, but with number of scams going on I wanted to get some more info.  I called the number and it rang more than 8 times.  Any legit business is going to have some type of answer service.  Based on the number of posts here I have to agree this is a scam and not worth any additional time or effort other than to make certain this so called company doesnt' have access to any of my personal or business information.
