I recieved the same sort of voicemail from "Peter".  I am not returning the call.

Same as the rest of you, I got a call from Peter needing to verify information on a check I wrote, the ironic part.....I haven't even had a checking account in OVER 5 YEARS!  How could I have written a check when I don't even have a checking account?!  I think the last one I had was in 2004!!!  I hate phishers and scammers....can't they get a real @#$%!* job?!!

got a voicemail on my work phone..same thing Peter from FFG about a check I wrote...sheesh will these people ever stop!

The # that came up on my caller ID is 719-344-2863 and they are in the Colorado Springs area.

Had a call on my cell number from Peter with FFG & Assoc today about a check I wrote and needed to verify some information for security purposes.  The caller ID showed a local number with 512 area code, but he left the 877 call back number.  Sounded like BS to me and everything I've seen on the web indicates it is a scam company by the name of Frontier Financial Group out of Nevada aka Vegalo LLC.  One post even has a link to a State of Nevada court order to cease and decist because they are not a licensed collection agency.  

Also have seen alot of posts of persons who claim to have had legal run ins with FFG, but the pattern of posts looks too similar and so they look to be like FFG reps posing in order to further the scam.   Clever and persistent [***]

Received same call from Peter on my work voicemail.  The checks I write got to two places my mother or church.  I use cards for everything else.  Same number 877-787-5582

On June 14, 10:00 AM, a message was left on my answering machine.  It was from Peter with FSG Associates regarding a check I wrote.  He requested that I call 1-877-787-5582 to verify information for security purposes.  Peter will not hear from this Ridgerunner.

Peter and Joseph from SSG & Associates keeps calling and leaving a message on my recorder stating they need to verify information on my check. We have NO outstanding checks or bills. I even left a message on my recorder that we are on the Do-Not-Call Registry and for SSG & Associates to quit calling, but they continue to call with yet another number 1-866-443-6985.

They are also calling with the 1-877-787-5582 number.

I have sent information about my calls to numerous authorities.
Hope they stop them soon.

I was called by this company during the week of August 2-6 about a "check" that I wrote for a payday loan from Check'n'Go....I did not sign a check..I gave check'n'go my bank account number so that they could debit what I owed them when payment came due....unfortunately the money that I was waiting for to put into the bank to cover this account never materialized and I was told by three (3) bankruptcy attorneys to close the account (as I will be filing a chapter 7 as soon as I can save the money)...they told me they could press charges for fraud and have me arrested and hauled into court...the only reason I took out this loan was that I lost my husband on 8/15/2009 (loan was taken out 10/23/2009) to help me over the rouogh spots until what I thought would be payment of his life insurance...but the insurance company denied the claim because he withheld information about his health...the only money refunded was the premiums that I had paid into the policy which went to the funeral home to finish paying for his cremation....I am now living in fear of being arrested and put in jail for fraud...getting this loan was very stupid, but when you just lost your husband and have bills to pay you do stupid things.....payday loans are no longer legal here in the State of Arizona....

I received dthe same call last week from "Joseph"...but when I called back I spoke to a Vanessa who said she was his assistant and that they are a Law Firm retained by Check'n'Go (a payday loan company out of Cincinnati, OH)....I took out a loan with them shortly after my husband passed away last year (stupid I know) but I was going to pay off the loan with life insurance proceeds that never came through....they use scare tatics about charging you with fraud and hauling you to jail and into court...they won't tell you where they are and won't accept money orders for payment..only moneygrams from western union....beware of this scam...I have notified the Attorney General for the State of Arizona about the "validity" of this company because I'm suppose to "wire" them $50.00 towards my balance on the 13th of August....they also use a number 520-445-3721

I get calls from the same man i have hung up on him repeatedly and i just ignore it.

I recieved a message from a lady that said she was from SSG and Associates talking about a check. I only use check cards and not checks. She called from 832 -769-0107.   They make their number local to which ever city the person is in.
They try to get your personal information. She told me about a loan but she had the wrong person because and it wasn't my name. She then stated I was going to jail for fraud when I told her that she got the right first name but someone elses last name and I never took out a loan in my life. I called the police and got them to trace the number for fraud.

I have a message for ALL you folks....I just got a call from my State Attorney General's office...DO NOT SEND OR WIRE MONEY to these people no matter what they threaten....they have a CEASE AND DESIST ORDER against them from the State of Nevada....if they continue to call, contact your own State Attorney General's office and FILE A COMPLAINT like I did!!!!!!!

Contact your State Attorney General's office and file a complaint!!!! This company is only trying to get personal information i.e. phone, bank acct # , social security numbers....The State of Nevada has a cease and desist order against this company...If they keep calling, contact your own State Attorney Generals office immediately!!!!!

Well I've been hearing from these people for a year now. After recieving the very first call back in sept of 09 I made a police report and contacted all three credit beruaes. I checked my credit report and saw nothing unusual on it. The problem is when they asked for those security questions I buckled and gave out my ss#. Yes stupid me. They told me I owed check-n-go for and online loan with an amount I would have never been approved of in the first place because I am a single mother barely making it! haha. Anyways its been a year since I last heard from them but last week they called and spoke to my parents and devulged all of this so called information to them and alsoused their scare tactic. They had my parents fighting and they called me super P***d Off. Well I called to see what they wanted. It was the same thing except this time supposedly I was going to jail and I was gonna be sued by them. I explained that someone had to have commited fraud and I told them I had a police report. I took off work and spent a day downtown trying to get a copy of that documented police report. I faxed it in and called to see if they had recieved it (I was being super cooperative) then I was yelled at screamed at. The lady told me that my police report was not substancial by any means. I just started crying I was at work pouring a pitcher of miller light for a customer at this point!!! I hung up. I felt like I was being harrassed all that day long. Its definately a scarey feeling. I then gathered my thoughts and decided that I would not let myself get defeated by these people (After all I am in the right 1,000 %) !!!! Long story short they are still trying to get information out of me! I told them to fax me documents and they haven't done that yet. Also this morning I called to get the name of the company (to do some research) and the lady who asnswered demanded that I tell her why I needed that information then said she could not help me with anything further and hung up on me. My father told me tonight that they called his home phone and left a message at their house saying I was threatening them... Why are they acting like children? I don't know if this is a scam until I hear back from check n go but all of this sounds super fishy and has been this way since jump street!!! I talked to a military attorney today and he said they HAVE to provide documents. Anything I just want a copy of a bill or loan application or a check!!! Something saying I did something wrong here. Other than that I'm about to change my number!!!!

Oh I wanted to add how many people are asking for the attorneys bar number?? I think that will be in my list of questions to ask these people!

Received a call from a man named from SFG & Assoc. on my message machine, stating the same thing about a check I wrote.I did not return they call and i am glad i read the information on this site. very helpful..
