- GigiSame thing happened to me. Local number but gave 8778084097. I received 12 calls prior from a Private number back to back. They claimed they are from my County and then left a case# and law office name that says it's located in PA. She claims her name is Audrey Tate(sp)
I did answer the private call and asked who and what this was pertaining to and the guy was so aggressive and would not tell me. I hung up on him. He claims his name is Eric Sanchez. He said United Firm
If they cannot say where they are calling from, it's a scam.- Caller: United Firm

- willnotbebulliedSarah Arnold stated she was with the Shelby County Tennessee processor's office. However the call came from 877-808-4097. I have sent a letter to the firm Hoffman and Moore with a cease and desist order. Also requested only written correspondence from them. They also violated privacy laws by calling my son.

I called back the 928-323-8792 some SA lady answered something dispatch wouldnt tell me what this was for only told me I was being served papers. I asked if she was in a "dispatch" setting for the police? she said you need to call the attorney who is suing you and she hung up. Sounded like a scripted line and she was chewing gum- just rude

- RoseCaller ID shows “unknown” but someone claiming name as Josh calling from law firm (same law firm name mentioned in other posts) and stated that according to California law I have 1 day to respond to wage garnishment. However I could contact them and resolve the matter. I have not received anything in the mail and have no idea what they could be talking about. From the posts here it appears this is yet another scam. Seems to me a legitimate company or business wouldn’t have their phone number as unknown if legitimate. It’s like once they get your name then you are bugged forever by these scammers. It started right after I signed up on one of jobs websites (monster.com).

- Anonymous| 1 replySo I’ve Been getting calls and threats from these people since July 8th. They called me saying that I owed a debt and if not paid I’m going to be garnished. The caller me via a 919 dispatcher number and left an 877-808 number on my VM. They offered me a payoff amount of about $800 and when I called them back today July 9th Josh Turner upended the price to $1500 with monthly payments of $359. He was rude as hell from the initial call! I’ve asked to speak to someone hire up and they claim there isn’t anyone hire up. Now all of a sudden he’s the manager. Lol go figure. I think they are a scam!!

- MJG replies to AnonymousFYI - wage garnishment is done by COURT ORDER - not because a bottom feeder says so. You would have been in court & seen a judge!! Rudeness is typical of callers like this. BLOCK them.
- Anonymous| 3 repliesJust received a call from the number 877-808-4097 by a woman named Lindsey Meyers from the law firm Goffman and Moore. She claimed there was a case against me to garnish my wages and said there would be a courier dispatched to my old address and if I wasn’t there be sent to my job. I’m currently unemployed so of course I’m freaking out. Luckily I googled the phone number and looked them up on BBB. Looks to be a scam. I looked up my case number as well and it doesn’t exist.

- Kat* replies to Anonymous| 2 repliesYes, it's a scam and there are a couple of big clues that it is. First of all, as MJG mentioned, you can't be garnished without a court order. Second of all, REAL process servers don't call in advance. If they call again, tell them to follow the law by mailing you proof of the debt along with proof they're legally entitled to collect said debt. REAL debt collectors will do this as they know phone calls are NOT a legal method of debt validation. Nor are emails, faxes, or texts.
- Dee replies to Kat*| 1 replyJust received a call from a Mrs. Nicholson from Goffman and Moore LLP. She said that they will be garrnishing my wages and that they will be sending a processor to my Job, my home address and to make sure I have mananger or supervicor there when they serve me at my job. Case no STL 2645-TIC then she said good luck.
. - Gunnar replies to Dee"Mrs. Nicholson" is nothing more than a meager-minded Scammer who couldn't get a job at a Deli garnishing a sandwich plate with a Pickle. Wage garnishment is ordered by the court AFTER a judgment has been awarded against you. Meaning that you must be served & appear in court FIRST!
Process Servers do NOT call ahead of time! NOT EVER! They don't require witnesses & they do NOT deliver messages!
Be Safe. Be Aware.
Gunnar - KarenI received a call from Sarah Arnold, stated that she was with Knox County processing unit. Gave me the same information that I had 24 hours to clear my debt or my wages would be garnished and papers would be sent to my work/home address on file. She gave me 877-808-4097 number to call to take care of this. Called and got ahold of Josh Turner who was very rude. He immediately wanted to get payment in full or set up payment options. I have spoken with the place that originally had the debt and the balance was a 1/4 of what they were trying to get from me. They gave me a different number to call to get ahold of the correct area for my balance. Not Goffman & Moore? I sent a test message back to the first number that called me and it came back as an error showing an out of country number linked to it. Number that came back was +1121611611

She just told me she was not associated with the legal firm and hung up on me. And it's the same law firm gafford & Moore. these people are debt collectors that buy accounts and try to collect on old accounts.
