This is a legit number, they called me, left me a voice mail. I was weary so I called the PNC number on the back omg my card. Ended up my card had been compromised in a slimmer device. Shut it down and am getting a new one.

Received voicemail from this number saying they were PNC Loss Prevention and there was suspicious activity on my card.  I called the number on the back of my card because I did not feel comfortable giving out the requested information over the phone.  It turned out to actuallt be PNC.

I am so glad you said this because I also gave them some info, so now I can check my alerts on my account and be relieved. There was fraudulent charges on my account too

You were scammed! Boy were you scammed! I would suggest calling the real bank at their real number.

Texted a friend of mine with a phony number to call back. They got her social security number! Never call numbers from cold calls or out of the blue texts - Look up the number yourself!

I received a call about a specific charge amount I made on my card. The number came up as 412-355-6980 and when I asked for the call back number to call them back, they gave me 877-841-9125, I was still very leery as one should be, and decided to call the number on my card. They verified that the 877 number is from PNC Loss Prevention and that they usually call when they see irregular account activity.  I will still be calling back for some more verification, especially the 412 number, and I already checked my account and all is good. Please do your due diligence people. Scammers out there are very clever these days and if it is your banking institution, they should understand your concerns for fraud. I have had 2 close people in my family have their accounts compromised...this is NO FUN! Save yourself the heartache and ask questions...and call back the number on the back of your bank issued cards, or go into your bank and speak to someone directly.

Received call from 252 451 7255 looking for another person in the household.  Said they needed to talk to that person about their account but had no current telephone number for them.  Said I would give them message. Claimed to be PNC bank reps.  Left 877 841 9125 as call back number.  Called PNC bank and they said they were not trying to get in touch with that person.  Possible debt collector. THIS IS A SCAM.

Got a message to call this number. Claimed they were PNC fraud unit. I called PNC directly. This is NOT PNC. Do not talk to them

Called my phone at 2:40 saying the call was for Megan Kir(mangled but  maybe puncle apologized for saying the name incorrectly) regarding a debit card  charge. No Megan here
and no debit cards used. Just hoping to get someone to pickup the call and crook them.

This IS the legitimate fraud number for PNC, but scammers are able to make it look like they're calling from ANY number. Any call from PNC, you're advised to hang up and call back using the number on the back of your card. Be aware also of fake texts from PNC. They almost look like the real thing.
