I actually called customer service to ask whether this number is associated with AT&T. The agent looked it up and told me it is fraud dept.

Legit number, AT&T Fraud Department...$1,500 worth of iPhones in my name, in July...I own a two year old Samsung!

Its funny because i received a call from a woman claiming she is from AT&T fraud department, and the thing was, i was actually talking to att customer service on the other line and i said, : r u really from at& t, because i am talking to them right now, and she said, you need to hang up with them because i am from att fraud dept. And indeed i was talking to the real at&t agent and mr. Att checked for me f someone put out a call to me, but there was no notation he can fine. And i told that lady, u r a scammer, get off my back, and she hang up....

This is a legit AT&T Fraud Department number (https://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter/s ... le-services.jsp).  I was receiving multiple text messages -- one after another -- from AT&T that changes were being made to my account and to call 611 if I did not make them.  Shortly, following the text messages I received a called from an a rep asking to speak with me.  I was kind of suspicious and asked for a number to return the call.  Returned the call and it was AT&T Fraud Department.  They had caught changes being made to my account and wanted to know if it was me.  When I told them it wasn't, they wanted me to create a pass-code to protect my account.

I got a call from (1 877 844 5584)  please is this a genuine company or people trying to scam people) somebody help me understand this.

Call the number from your AT&T bill - that way, you will KNOW you're calling the correct people.  They should be able to tell you if there's actually fraud on your account.

Why would they call. Usually people call art but not the company. How do u know that somebody in the company is not trying to scam you or get your credit card number or information to use it, rather than make your payments online where nobody can scan you.

I got some emails saying thank you for changing your password, when i didnt requested it & it had a diff IMEI number with my cell number, i called at&t & reported, changed my passcode & they gave me 877-844-5584 to call in the AM && report my problem, but after reading all these posts, i dont know who to call or trust...? Help

I have been getting phone calls from pharmacy in CA to pick up med from CVS for Annie /Ann Giles ( I never used CVS pharmacy  ) I keep getting some others phone calls are from "possible" cox com. from female who is looking for her and asking at the same time for my name?  from banks ( I never been banking with ). They called twice for denied debit card on name - Annie Giles in CA( I have messages on my I phone saved ) ..This is not a mistake .There is the same number in use by AT& T.  The services keep telling this is a right number she keeps providing but the name is different,  so no worries ??? .This is not mistake. It has been going on since last spring. The number she provides is my phone number I have been using it since 2012 from AT & T.  I had & I still have signed old documents of contract with At & T & for my phone, I got from them with since June 2012 ..What shall I do? ..

according to the call i received at 6:24 am the woman said she was from the fraud department at a t & t, she was fishing for information, i told her i would call a t & t myself

A man left a voice mail stating that there was an issue with an AT&T account and left a callback number of 866-388-4839. I looked up the AT&T customer service number myself as I felt something was not right with this call. The actual AT&T customer service agent told me this number was not associated with AT&T.

Phone number 877-844-5584 is listed on AT & T's website under the global fraud.  Contacted AT & T customer service and gave account number she verified someone opened an account under our company name but they had closed it due to fraud.  Legit number

Got a call from this number and called ATT and they stated it is their fraud dept. but he changed my passcode on their end so i hope they don't call back

I received a letter from IC System, a collector agency, which says I owed AT&T mobility $249.92. The letter has collector agency number 866-798-4137. The letter also says to call AT&T Theft of Identity at 877-844-5584 within 30 days.
After reading this forum, I ignore the letter. If I have to call, I will call AT&T customer service.
