It's supposedly Wells Fargo's Online Customer Service, however, REAL Wells Fargo numbers begin with 866 and this number is not listed as one of their REAL numbers. Don't give them any information, if you need to speak with Wells Fargo call 866-867-5568 for customer service or just call their regular number.

They will be very pushy and continue calling, they even found out my grandmother's number and starting harassing her!

I forwarded the calls from my office phone to my cell phone. Received several calls from this number to the office, they were forwarded properly. The call was from Wells Fargo, for someone I work with; I took a message. Here's where it gets weird.

I have begun receiving calls directly to my cell phone now. Office calls are no longer being forwarded, but they keep coming. At first I didn't recognize the number (hence why I came here), so I have not yet answered.  And here's the topper, I just received two back to back text messages from them with just the number as the body.

I get regular calls from Wells Fargo since I lost my job, so not sure if it's them or not, but I ignore all calls unless I know the person.  I just got 2 calls in a row and then the text message with the phone number as the body of the message and came here.  Can't help much I guess with the identity, but they are still in operation.  Thanks for all your help everyone.

Could this be Verizon Wireless?  The text messages I'm getting from them is filed under Me on my phone, just like the free messages from them. I got another one today.  And I am currently behind on payments... or a hired collector for them maybe.

They claim to be Wells Fargo credit card services but I would take that with a grain of salt.

How do you know what all "REAL" Wells Fargo #s start with? This is a huge company and has many different prefixes. This is a real number and if they are calling it is important and not a marketing call. Be a responsible adult and not a wacky conspiracy theorist and return the call.

Came home to find out the message from supposedly Wells Fargo Customer Service. Never had any credit cards with WF. t is a fraud.

I got a message leaving this number asking me to call back saying it was an important matter from Wellsfargo. I called the number, they say its Wells Fargo, asked me a bunch of verification questions about my credit card, checked their 'notes'  then told me no one had called me and that there must be a mistake. Then I call the toll free number on the back of my credit card. They had no record of me calling. I closed my credit card immediately.

Well, its been 24 hours since my last post and I have gotten about a dozen phone calls from Wellsfargo Credit Located in Beaverton OR. I call the number located on the back of my card and they tell me that they have not tried to contact me. The last voicemail asked me to call back on the 877 number, but was calling for me AND my sister but referred to me by my sister's married name. She and I do not have joint accounts. In fact, she doesnt even have a wellsfargo account. Its fraud.

This is indeed a legitimate number! They're calling because you owe on your credit card! You should pick up and actually speak to them an pay your bill! They'd stop calling if you did! Simple concept to grasp!!!

I got a phone call from this number claiming to be wells fargo and that I should call them asap.

When I called the number on the back of my credit card they said there were no notes from the fraud squad or any reason someone should call me.

We recived a call from this number from a guy named "Craig" & he left an extenstion.  On the message he asked to speak my husband AND ME.  When I returned the call the following things happened:

*This rep picks up & says that the extention option is given but the call just rolls over to the next available person.
*He says they have multiple all centers & different numbers show up... negagtive.
*The rep says my phone number only shows my husband's name (refer to the above paragraph).
*The rep tells me this is Wells Fargo credit card services & asked for my social.  I told him no.  He then told me he could verify me by my card number.  I told him no again.  I stated this was the 1st time I have received a call from this number & we will not be contacting EACH OTHER again.  We will deal ONLY with Wells Fargo's main customer service number.  He told me this was a limited offer.  I hung up.

    How I know for a FACT this is fraud: I have called WF card services before & they verified me by my phone number & we went from there.  DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR INFORMATION!!!!!

I understand what you're saying, but it is also being responsible by making sure no steals your identity.  Regardless of what you say this number is NOT real.

Not true. These people are trying to steal your identity. They called us twice and said to call immediately about our Wells Fargo account. We have no account with Wells Fargo. Scumbags.

These phone calls are an attempt to steal your identity. They've been calling us multiple times telling us to call them immediately about "our" account. We do not have an account with Wells Fargo. Bingo!

This is a fraud. Don't call them back. I don't have an account with Wells Fargo

This number is showing up again, with the caller leaving a message for someone who doesn't live here. The caller/extension on the message is different every time. I don't have a Wells Fargo account.

On May 12, the # simply appeared as "PRIVATE" on caller ID.
