I have been getting numeous calls from this number for about 2 weeks now.  They usually call at least twice a day, every day.  When I call it back, it is not in service.  I don't understand how they can transmit this number anyway, since it the most bogus number I anyone could think of.  When I answer, the call just disconnects.

Same deal.  Nobody there.

I got a call from this number this morning on my cellphone. When I answered I was asked if this was the business address I moved out of 8 months ago. When I said no, they hung up.

Received a call from this number asking what product we make and if we offer financing

it is from a leasing company calling businesses trying to attract new accounts for leasing  of whatever products (medical field in my situation)

They call constantly.  We are a web based business and they waste our time with their constant interruptions.  We now know not to answer, but often they tie up the line which results in a legtimate call rolling over into voicemail. This is business we may lose if the customer doesn't leave a message because he or she wants to talk real time.

Got this call today on my cell phone, 10/11/07, and did not answer. Toll free numbers that are so obviously telemarketing numbers we just refuse to answer any more.

It's getting to the point where toll free in-bound calls can pretty much be considered spam. If someone is calling directly from a company, we usually see a non-toll-free prefix as the person is calling from an trunk line on their phone switch.

800, 866, 877, and 888 numbers are becoming a *liability* to companies who dial out on them because of this type of spam.

I received a call from this number. When I answered, no one repsonded. The call when to my voicemail with only a rattling hang-up for a message.

this is a business phone-I dont appreciated this interruption-stop calling me.

Called this morning at 7:35 and 7:29.  Left two messages.  Them messages were fax machine noises.

I just received a call from 888-123-1234 and a guy asked for me by name and I replied.  He hung up.  I actually sent a resume to these people.  They had posted on Craigslist for a position.  They had Marlin Leasing in their post, but I don't know why this guy just hung up!  GRRRRRR!

I have been receiving phone calls from this number almost daily at 6:00am, no one is usually ever at the other end. Very annoying

every day this number calls and either they dont say anything or ask for my husband by name, but will not speak to me personally, will hang up when I ask who is calling. Totally harassing.

I called the company and they confirmed 888-123-1234 is their caller id.

This number called my office 5 or 6 times repeatedly - but did not leave a message...I agree - I think I will start refusing to answer TF inbound calls....what an annoyance!  Btw...This site is very helpful - I have referenced it several times and always gotten answers!  Thanks!

888-123-1234 belongs to Marlin Leasing.  It is a company that leases out business equipment for dealers.

I asw the number and didn't answer - happened a couple of more times - answered - talked to a nice guy named John - he is now funding our commerical sales dept (did $103,897 last month - my commission was over $10,000!) so just goes to show - well not sure what it shows other than thank god they called ME - do I think the calls were worth $10,000?  You bet I do!  Some of you people are just poor business people I would recon - just sitting in your offices, letting the business "come to you" and wondering why you are struggling?  Get off your butts and answer your dang phones!
