No sound just hung up

got the same thing. seems to happen several times a week from different 888 numbers in the id.

I missed the call. When I called back, "Your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the number and dial again". Hmm.

I got the same call, nothing when I answered.  It is a direct violation of the FCC rules since 888-123-8888 is an invalid number.

Called 10:19 Sunday morning-silence with clicks, then dial tone.

It called around 11:25 today, no sound...ugh! When I called it back, it said that my phone wasn't allowed to call it?

Rang briefly, I didn't pick up, no message left.  Called back, but got fast busy signal.

Hung up when answered. Got # from *69.  Tried to call it back but got recoring, I'm sorry the number you are calling can not be reached byt his method?? Please call your operator for assistance.
Weird.

When I picked up no one answered. When I called back no signal.  It was my cell.  Looks like others have the same issue on their cells.

Received a call by this number on 6/21/08, 9:11am. No one on the other end. Has anyone thought of this;? Whoever is calling is just listening for background noise. Maybe what your watching on TV or the raido? Maybe if you have children noise in the background? Called the number back and got a record message said not a vaild number.

Like B, I just rcvd this call on my cell. Hung up before I could answer. Called back - got "call could not be completed as dialed" as with some of the other posts.

Called at 9:17am on Saturday morning.  No one there, just clicks.

Ditto; my call was at 9:25 AM (Central)

Call rcvd at 13:39 central time.  Same as previous posts.  Just silence on the other end

I got this just now too. Very annoying

It is a company called NCO that claims you owe money on credit cards that you have never had. It is a scam and every time you think you stopped them they start again. They claimed I owe thousands on a Discover Card. I have never had a discover card. They ask you to send them your signature and then they change their records to show your signature. DON'T GET INVOLVED WITH THEM. Just hang up

Got call at 2:04 p.m. they just hung up on me... 6/21/08 got the call back number from *69

I just got this call a few minutes ago and like I am doing with all these scam calls is using my *60 service and boy I never get anymore calls from the same number or company again. See if your phone company offers this service and get it. I have mine with AT&T in case anyone has them, sure worth the few bucks I pay never to have them call me again. Also if your name is on the do not call list report this and any other number to them via the website. If they get enough complaints maybe we can shut these scammers down for good.

Same as the others. This time to a business line. It's bad enough on the home phone, but it wastes valuable time at my business...
