- Chris| 4 replies1-888-211-4727 is the OFFICIAL SPRINT TECH SUPPORT NUMBER. However, that's not who actually called most of the people complaining about this number here as the number is usually listed as unknown/unlisted. The scammers just give out that number to make you think they are legit.
I didn't take the call initially as it came in unknown. They left a highly garbled message I could barely understand. What I could make out was; tech support...responding to your issue...call us back at 1-888-211-4727.
They called a second time and I answered knowing it was a scam. They referd to themselves by a first name and "Tech Support." They asked if the problem with my Yahoo mail on my phone was resolved. I said (which is true) that I do not have Yahoo mail. They responded with "Well, we deal with a lot of different problems, what was the problem you were having?" To which I said my problem was with illegal scammers like you and hung up.
Surprisingly, they called again and I let it go. They left a very clear voicemail that went something like; "This is the Boss of Advanced Tech Support. I am returning a call regarding the issue you were having with your Sprint Palm Treo 800w. Please call us back at 888-211-4727. We will also try contacting you again later." I'm not sure how they got my phone type, but it was accurate.
They haven't called back again, yet.
For those that do actually have sprint, I recommend calling the 888 number (it's legit) and get in touch with the real tech support people. Let them know you received a scam phone call. Let them know the exact, or as close s you can remember, time the call came in. Ask that they send the information to their fraud department to look into the issue. If enough complaints come in, they may be able to take some action against the number i.e. block it from the sprint network.- Caller: Impersonating Sprint Tech Support
- Chris replies to Feeling some kinda way about these calls| 2 repliesMore than likely it wasn't really Sprint. Many of the reports about this number could be incorrect as saying the call came from 888-211-4727. Most calls probably came from an unknown/unlisted number, but gave the 888 number (through talking to the person or listening to the voicemail) to mislead them into believing they were legit.
- Rcalled at 11:10 pm and just said "Can you hear me better now sir." didnt know who it was so i hung up. No other big complaints about sprint besides the phones that its mandatory to have internet.

- Rosanne LeVoir4 calls from this number, on 11/28/2009. at 0743, 0745, 0752 and 0753. I have no idea who these people are.
- annoyedThey called at 11:12pm and woke my husband and I. I didn't answer since I couldn't decide what company would be calling me that late. They did not leave a message. Glad I didn't bother answering after reading all of the posts.
- heliouser| 2 repliesSprint customer service - since Helio/VirginMobile was bought by Sprint, they are transferring or giving a discount to transfer contracts to Sprint (most likely to clean up Virgins account numbers and make them a pre-paid only provider like Boost Mobile).

- Jaime replies to ^_^| 2 repliesI'm actually a Sprint rep. This is Sprint customer care calling to check on the service you've recently received at the last visit you made to a Sprint store. If you've received this call, and don't have Sprint as your carrier, your number may have just been inputted incorrectly. :) Hope this helps clarify!

- NicI've been receiving calls from this number for the past month but have never answered. After getting 3 calls from this number in less than 2 minutes, I decided to look them up and found this forum. I should have known that whomever the caller was, they were up to no good. A reputable business would leave a msg and knows not to call ppl late in the evening!
- Jay| 2 repliesSprint is absolutely the worst company in the world. I had to wait until my son transferred his account with us to his wife's account to change my service. That left 2 phones on the account and I told Sprint I wanted them to drop me to the minimum plan. They told me that since I was not at the beginning of the billing cycle, they would have to prorate my service for the month if I didn't wait until April 1 to change the service. Yesterday, when I called was March 1. It was the very day of the bill. He told me my bill would be $40 dollars higher than if I had just paid my normal insanely high bill because I didn't call before the date.
$400 to cancel. I'll have to choke on the extra for this month, but I know lots of people. I will cost them more than they are ripping me off for. The plan end date is July so I'll just have to wait them out.
I know I'm late but I've been with them for 6 years. I always pay them. A little courtesy would be nice. If I tell them I will make a payment in a week, they still call. I'm beginning to get an attitude toward people from India because of who they hire to harass me.- Caller: Sprint

- KelleyGot a call from this number, but it was because Sprint said they would call. It was a follow-up to make certain the rep I spoke with set my aircard up correctly and I had access to the internet. Unlike so many other people posting here, I actually know how to read a contract and get the service I want and need. What kind of dumbass signs up for a $35 plan, then expects to call everyone on the planet without any extra charges? I think you should be blaming genetics, not Sprint.
