called stated they were from amazon about a 449.99 charge on my account

I got a call from 847-330-1060 with a voicemail message: “This call is regarding your today's purchase from amazon.com you have been charge $449.99 for an order _⁠_ ending with 26878 if you have made us online purchase on amazon.com and recognize it and simply hung up the call and your order will be dispatched shortly but if you have not made any such transaction and immediately call Amazon billing and fraud prevention department on toll-free 888-214-5653 I repeat 888-214-5653 thank you…”

Appears to be a scam.

got the same call today for same amount of money, same order number.  left us a voice mail.

Same call this morning. Left voice mail described as others have written. Voice was broken up so it was difficult to understand... but the phone number left was clear.

I received a notification that a charge of $449.99 was being charged from Amazon....and if it wasn't mine to call this number.....and no one answers.....

same on voice mail $449.99 and instructs you to "hung" up the phone if ok - their grammar or spelling or speech pattern is almost always just a little off.

Had same issue. Recd a message from someone claiming to be from Amazon.
