http://www.santanderclassaction.com/ - EmmyReceived a phone call from 888-222-4227. Man asked for Kimberley Clark. I told him he had a wrong number and hung up. If this is from a Financial company, I don't know why they would call. I do not have a car payment. I am not Kimberly Clark. How did they get my number?????

- MJ replies to SteveThose that have researched phone #'s and reading the posts are learning from others experiences. When you get phone calls from a phone # you don't know you should be researching them so that you don't get caught in fraudulant schemes. I also listened to a new report where people had been scammed and they said to always research the phone # and/or the company they CLAIM to be. Also check your state laws for harrament laws by bill colletors and file an online complaint to the FTC and the BBB.
- qingThey called me multiple times. I don't want to receive their calls.

- Yellowrose replies to Becki| 7 repliesWe haven't even bought a car in over 5 years....even then, we didn't finance it---paid for it outright. So, why are we getting calls??
- Another oneI've started receiving calls from this number: 1-888-222-4227, which appears to be Santander, Inc. I don't even have an automobile loan and they're calling me for someone else's debt! I've sent them a Drop Dead letter - certified, signature required. The USPS green card with a signature has come back meaning someone at their address: Santander Consumer USA Inc.

has accepted the letter. They must provide documentation that I owe said debt, and stop calling my number. If not, it is a violation of the Federal Free Trade act, and a violation of North Carolina laws.
Each offense is a $1000.00 fine. I plan on contacting them once again, turning them in to the Better Business Bureau and contacting my attorney for harassment. They can and will change their business practices after that. You can bet on it.- Caller: Santander

- HHR BummerActually, I kind of wish they would come reposses my car but not really as then I would not have any transportation. I do have bad credit and they financed my car. However, I have an out of this world rate and I do get behind - but never past 20 days!! But I got a lemon. I bought it used (a 2010) but even used they lied to me about the condition of the car. AC broke, had to replace the brakes and rotors and ignition switch and I reported all of this to the car dealer before I ever drove off the lot and not once have they done anything. I know its not the auto lenders fault but it still burns my buns that I am paying $14k for a car that has this many mechanical problems from the day I drove it off the lot. And I have bought older cars that were in better condition.

- Jiminy Crackets replies to User20495I get the same calls from several different area codes, all day long, every day. Then after my continual ignoring the calls I don't recognize, they actually called my son's phone. They weren't even given his cel number. They apparently just found someone near to where I live with my last name, which is an uncommon name, and then called him. It's apparently part of their business practices to shake people down for money. My guess is that they pay people little money to sit in cubicles and make these unrelenting calls.
Lamo!!! - CaloyIs this harassment?
Times of call:
28 times so far. From June 8 to July 23, 2012. They call only on Monday thru Friday. They do not call on weekends (thank Gawd). Times on the clock varies from mid-morning to mid-afternoon into 6pm. I get a call a least once day. I expect another call tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day after until the debt is paid.
Again, is this harassment?

- ***Read This!!!*** replies to GAYLE| 5 repliesHere's some information for you.
The vast majority of companies calling you, regardless of the company's size, utilize a computerized system to make their outbound sales and collection (recovery) calls. These systems make more efficient use of tha call center employee's time.
The computer makes the outbound call and waits for the line to connect. When you answer the phone, the computer will register the connection and will then transfer the call to a representative who will handle the call. The process works fine, as long as there are enough representatives working to handle the number of calls being answered. If, after a default period of time, the computer cannot connect to an available representative the call will be disconnected. The computer will register the call as a non-connected call as a representative did not speak with you. Your number is then returned to the call queue to be called again when your number cycles to the top again to be called.
Their agents are not calling you and listening to you repeatedly say hello.
*Rule of thumb. --> If no one responds after you have said hello twice, just hang up and go on with your day., Sadly, they will call again since they have not actually made contact with you.
Complaining to a rep once you do get to speak with a person is useless as they just speak to people when the call connects to them. Typically, they are not even able to make outbound calls from their station. Some manager or supervisor is overseeing the call load as directed by some manager who isn't even at the facility. - LiamI just financed my car two weeks ago, and my 1st payment isn't due for another 30 days. My solution is when they call to answer and just scream F*CK OFF!! AND HANG UP.

- DeniseLVDSantander USA is ruthless about the number of times per day they will call. Here it is at 8:44 a.m. EST on a Sunday morning and they are calling. I have two car payments with them and I have a 10 day grace period on my car payments. I made one automatically and have not set up the other one to be made automatically yet since it is a relatively new loan. Let me warn others: What you are NOT TOLD when you finance with them at a high interest rate: THEY DO NOT REFINANCE EVER to get you into a lower rate, EVER!!! even though your car salesman may have told you that you can get a lower rate 6 months to a year later after making your payments on time. Santander ALSO reposessed a previous vehicle from me when I was only 2 payments behind but there was absolutley nothing that I could do about it and yet they STILL financed me for two more vehicle loans. GO FIGURE!!!

- GryphexI work at an insurance agency. It can get really busy in here and the last thing we need on a busy day is to have someone call us on our main line and then hang up. I wish there was a way to end these nonsense calls. We get far too many of them.
