I too received a threatening phone call and they also told me that they were collecting from a pay day loan of which I knew nothing about  and told me that if I didn't start paying it out they would issue a lien against my taxes. so They have started taking out moneies and were only supposed to take it out on ONE DAY A week and so Far since they started they have taken it out 3 times of which 2 were only authorized. You know what sucks is that jerks like you who don't pay your bills spend more time complaining about scum bad collectors than actually PAYING YOUR BILLS.  I hope they can arrest you it would make it easier

That tells you that they didnt register with the BBB, it doesn't mean they're a scam, the BBB is a scam. You pay them $1000 and they tell people owww great business they're legit. BS. Get a clue! Your son owed a debt and by the contract that he signed they are allowed to charge interest, its the way the world works lady. Good thing the mob didnt loan him the money!!

Get a clue people!! Debt collections is legit. If you owe the debt, don't go blogging, and if you received a call for someone else, then it was the wrong number. Unfortunately this country is the way it is because of people that take loans and deny that they owe them, own up to your debts. You trashbags

Especially disregard any calls from a Dan Patrick whose real name is Daniel Chirayath....he tells debtors they are professional thieves and he owes EVERYONE money himself!  Imagine that......biggest scumbags in the world working for McGuire Hummel.....

First of all, Billpayer, Get a life! It sounds like you might work for this very company we are talking about. McGuire & Hummel may be a real life collection agency but they ask for info over the phone that you should never give out. When you ask for them to send you something to prove who they are they refuse. In this age of identity theft you should never give your SSN, bank info and credit card info to a complete stranger on the phone.

As for billpayer's comments, Not everyone that gets a call from these people (YOU) owe money or don't pay there bills. Even if they don't you are not the God appointed debt police.

I have gotten several calls from this number and they have identified themselves as the NY State DA's office, The US DA's office as well as McGuier and Hummel. If they want people to cooperate they need to get their story straight, but their tactics intimidate people so they keep going.

Kevin, You must work for one of these companies. Does it make you feel better to get on a public forum and call names and make threats? You sound like you got beat up a lot when you were in school and probably still live at your mom's house.

These people are on here looking for answers about suspicious phone calls requesting a lot of personal and financial info. The NY State Attorney General's office have had many complaints on this group and urged me to never give them any information. And that they are looking into it.

I'm sure Kevin or Billpayer will lash out about my post but I know the law very well (kinda my job) and in all 50 states you have to be given the chance to answer to any collection or judgement proceeding in writing before any action can be taken. And NO you cannot be arrested for not paying your bills.

I took out a payday loan for a family member and got burned, so i ended up paying for the loan.  I got a call from Mcquire and Hummell and the gentleman Mr. Sanders, helped me with some type of arrangements and now the debt is paid in full.  So call them back they will work with you. And if you dont come off mean they wont come off mean.

Got a call today from a Mr. Baley who claimed to be a Marshall and was at my place of employment to serve me an affidavit. Give me a break, you call from a restricted #. If you are legit you would make your information valid. The call back # I got was 888-5897-4002. What a bunch of idiots!!!!!

I too recently had the same numbers calling me. But they left a new number before they file at the clerks office.  They are in Buffalo New York.  716-200-1764. They are a collection agency.

So if will be nice to call the Attorney General office in New York for action. The Department of Justice will also like to hear from all of us. Lets start a class action suit. We can find some real attorneys that will stop this and make them pay.
